It does baffle me how supporters turn on themselves - divides getting created.
fans who go away every week, those that don’t.
Fans who were at the league 2 and league 1 days versus the wembley brigade.
Those that went brum/Northampton, those that didn’t.
those with a million points and those without.
I used to go to the odd away game in the years before the kids started coming along and I can’t ever remember this ‘atmosphere’ being a thing. And it’s likely the exiles that caused it as when we were in Northampton/Brum the whole “well we’ll support them away” instead and it started - the loyalty points system whilst necessary due to the increase in demand has exacerbated feelings.
I realise this is an emotive subject for some so I’ll try and be respectful and considered when I say this……
I do understand and get the loyalty points system, however the one gripe I do have about it is that say if my kids want to go to an away game once a season, maybe for a birthday, it’s basically a closed shop as we only have 900-odd points each (the 2021/2022 season we went to most games on JSB family tickets so the points didn’t get counted I don’t think), rather than the required double that.
unless it goes general sale, which whilst it happens it’s rare I think (someone let me know which games have gone that way, I’ll bow to superior knowledge), then the response I’ll likely get is ‘well you can’t go then’.
unless you know someone who can get you one.
So I’ve personally not really got too much against it as that is currently the only way I could get one as it stands.
Surely we want as many fans to support the team wherever they want to?
