Anybody any idea how much sisu would want to just leave our club and walk away?
If it is a sensible figure could the SBT along with some local businesses and fans finance the payment?

Pure guesswork, but I guess if someone offered them 20-25m they might go for it.

If they truly do want to make serious money from this club then it's going to be many, many years down the line for sure.

And who will pay the bills?

Could ask that question of any new owner to be fair.

At least Sisu have cut most bills, you'd assume a return to the Ricoh on preferable terms with fans at the helm and Sisu having softened up the council and hopefully an increased gate.

I reckon if the debt was cleared we'd be OK. Problem is we could never raise the cash to clear the debt.

This would be a good idea, but what we need to remember is this ent gonna happen over night. We could buy the club if we find the funds, but this could take months to prepare. There are a number of things that we need to do in order to even think about something like this

Perhaps the Trust should be out and about looking for a rich Arab or two, plenty out there. Isn't Mr Keys currently working for the arabs on that Al Jazera station. ?

But putting that aside there will be an acceptable price, money talks

and run the club!

I've been saying this for years!
All you can ask any new owner to do is pay the 'F'in bills!

In regards to running it, with all due respects to Jan, I have more confidence in Joy, Tim and Elvis!
Of course any new regime would hope to cling on to Elvis! but wouldn't that be just a bit hypocritical?
And just what would the prospective new regime have proposed for ridding us of the £1.3m rent bill?
I suppose they'd want to cling on to that slight improvement too?

There must be clubs that aren't running at a loss, why is there an assumption that we couldn't be self sustaining. Especially at Championship / L1 level.

I doubt if there was a fan takeover Jan would be chairman and running the show. Far more likely that a chief exec would be employed who had experience of running this type of business.

maybe the council should buy the club too as they like to spend more than things are worth to protect the city's assets ... [tongue in cheek]

20-25 million

They will lose far more with their plan than 5-10 million.

Not the SBT

However I guess a new owner would agree a sliding scale rent tied into profits and attendances. Over a long term rent deal. Purchase the Higgs share

Turn the business into a profit making business.

We could charge those unicorns rent and they could live there with the T rex and flying pigs.

Can't see T Rex reforming without Marc Bolan. :thinking about:

I suspect that SISU want to acquire the Ricoh (and possibly surrounding land) for a song not because they want to run a football club but because they want to sell it and raise the money to repay their investors. Nobody has ever got a sniff of who their investors are, makes you wonder, doesn't it ?

But they are likely to be the type of people who would not take kindly to Joy telling them that their money is down the kermit. I think the recent insistence that they must own the Ricoh, freehold and all results from pressure from SISU's investors.

The danger is that SISU would sell to the first person who offers an acceptable amount. (I don't believe SISU will accept a deal for the Ricoh with any restrictions or covenants attached). If that first person is a football club owner then good news, providing they sell the club with it, but if it's a developer, things might get mega difficult.
