Shout out to BBC Wales… This week I watched an excellent doc about the role of women in the valleys during the miners strike. Powerful stuff. Also Included a bit about how the LGSM came to the valleys and the impact this had. The story that was dramatised in the film ‘Pride’.

I really enjoyed it. Took me back to those ‘84 Olympics and that rivalry with Jurgen Hinkson. Maybe that’s the sort of character you have to have be a champion but…

Another attribute Palmer has (I’m a fan) is that he isn’t afraid to get ‘involved’. Lati and Jeccles also aren’t too shy to kick people when it’s needed/not needed either. And then There are more obvious ‘brutes’ like kitching, Thomas, simms, Bidwell. I think I’m trying to say we’re a bit tasty...

I’m not sure if the league is weaker than last year or not. However, it does feel like we will be stronger. I’m really excited. I’m a First time season ticket with my lad and my mate and his boys. Not sure what I’m most excited about tbh!

Hmmm… Well, I hope if we do Dasilva has improved on last year/grown a bit. I’ve actually always thought JDS is a decent footballer. He was shocking at times though.

I’m a big fan of Bidwell but he’s the wrong side of 30 and will need replacing at some point. A few times last year looked caught out for pace by the opposition.

Well, unless we have a load of injuries (which could happen), would he already be 3rd striker behind simms? ie if Simms gets injured, Wright would go up top and EMC out wide? I’d like the youngsters to get a chance but obviously they’ve gotta be good enough.

You might well be right. Although I expect us to change things up at times.

Allen did really well in our playoff season and was my motm a few times in crucial games (don’t ask me to name them). Last season was obviously a bit of a ‘write off’ for him and I think it’s going to be tough for him to get back in the side.
