Prediction time - 11 games to go

Our current points to games ratio does point to 35 if we continue to accrue points at the current rate until the end of the season.

So far lost 20lbs since Pboro via sensible eating and modest exercise. Another half a stone to go though before month end!

Nice one - if I was ever unlucky enough to be in your shoes, and if I had the energy to do so, I'd spent a lot of time watching films and reading (also requires the ability/inclination to do so i.e. accepting the boredom). Not sure I'd have the patience to learn Spanish or start playing a...

Prediction time - 11 games to go

Between now and the Bradford game, please predict 1) how many more league games we'll win, and 2) how many more points we'll win 1 - No more than 2 wins until relegation is confirmed and then maybe a bonus win afterwards. I think we'll maybe beat Southend and Port Vale, and then one of...

    Nobody still believes surely ?

After the P'boro game I drove home with Mrs Oucho and the mother-in-law, who had come for a day in the shops and met us after the game. I waxed lyrical about how despite the late goal we now had a decent chance of staying up and that there was renewed hope. This hope grew with the Bolton...

    Torch's Counselling Thread

Torch, while you were in hospital did you have enough energy / ability to concentrate to use the time to do the sort of things that you wouldn't normally have time to do e.g. start to learn a new language, study stuff e.g. chess moves, history, physics etc? Also what's the rule on sick-pay...

See Gazolba reply above. Other rrsults are in practice irrelevant because at the moment it seems very unlikely we'll get to the current 39 point safety mark, never mind some notional higher safety post of 50 or so. It's irrelevant because we won't be getting close to safety.

Don't t forget Timmy said that we'd be hearing much more from him, that was back in December but i have barely heard a peep from him since then.

I think we could just survive with 7 wins and 2 draws from here = 23 points, plus the 26 we have = 49. I suspect that would be enough. Still, winning 7 out of 11 = more than 60% of the remaining matches. We've won 5 out of 35 so far = 1 in every 7 matches played i.e. less than 15% win ratio...

Why was that lucky for us? Our single point means that, with an average of two points per game required before kick-off today, we're further away from achieving the final safety mark than ever, even though the current points gap has shrunk by one. You admit we are down so surely the results...

    Oxford fans

With only an hour's drive on a usually quiet bit of motorway separating the two cities, it's not impossible to see a new rivalry of sorts starting to develop, especially if the final itself is quite tasty.

Even though Oldham lost today and we therefore closed the gap by a point, we are in fact further from safety than before kickoff because we require more than 2 points per game and obviously only won one today, so the required runrate has increased.

The old heart v head thing. I also rationally have dismissed our chances of survival for a month now, but can't help looking at the league table and calculating the improbable run of form that it would take for us to survive!

Do you actually think we'll survive?

I personally have believed and expected us to go down for several weeks, probably since before the Millwall game.

Is it too soon to say that Bradford is a must win?

Yes we need more than two points on average per game from here. Slade is averaging less than 1 point per game with us. Even since we stopped the rot at Wimbledon, we have P5 W1 D2 L2, 5pts i.e. 1 point per game.
