I’d have had Binks over Lats and Hadji over EMC - the logical formation is 5 - 2 -2-1 with wingbacks with that start xi but will we is the question? that 11 does not suit a 4-2-3-1

More a 5 -2 -2-1 with wright and riding given license to roam. simns target man Eccles and sheaf staying disciplined and holding centre width provided by MVE and DaSilva getting forward when possible.

I think we need to be harder to score against I would go five at the back and play Binks, Kitching & Thomas......this is team I would like to see. Dovin/Wilson (Don't care which currently on form). MVE - RWB DaSilva - LWB Binks CB Thomas CB Kitching CB Sheaf CM Eccles CM...

    Kitching vs Binks

I think our defence is so shaky we need to move to five at the back with three in the centre.......I'd then play all three as they all have strenghts and weaknesses - Kitching, Thomas & Binks for me as three in the centre = MVE one wing back and probably JDS as the other. Hopefully Sheaf and...

    Luis Binks tonight

Think probably Thomas/Kitching & Binks would be my preferred central 2 with the other two to help combat Binks lack of physicality especially against the less nice opposition......Cardiff/Stoke/Millwall etc...

    Luis Binks tonight

I'm a little conflicted on Binks currently.... is he our best "footballing" centre back.?,,,,,,yes without a doubt.....but for me given his height he is definitely lacking in physicality and if you throw him in alongside Lati and play a "physical" side think we would get bullied to hell.

Match Thread Bristol City FC - Coventry City [LC] Match Thread - Tuesday 13th Aug

That’s a pretty decent start xi and a very strong bench to boot should changes need to be made! in theory one’s starting tonight after last Saturday should be looking to turn in a performance to keep in the team!

    Robins Comments

I think there are a few players Robins was directing that comment at - a lot hid behind an opposition player so they were not available for a pass rather than make a simple run to get in Space and give another option for a pass. Torp was definitey guilty of that and Allen at times though Allen...

    Robins Comments

We were far too deep first half the defence were too deep for starters, the midfielders were also far too deep meaning Simms was far too isolated - thought Simms did well considering and should not have been substituted. We were far too safe and far too slow in possession thought Southgate...

    Matty Godden

Matty Godden has been a great servant to the club and still feel he will play a part and score a few more this season, We should all ensure he gets a great send off at end of this season just in case he has been fantastic for us like Liam Kelly has been through the upwards journey.

    Simms

I think Simms may just have to be sub for most of this season tbh. I think we are stuck with him but I also feel he will be much better next season with a bit more time with the club. I thilnk Godden may move on at the end of this season anyhow so Simms chance will come!

    Simms

Simms has been pretty disappointing - Godden's powers are on the decline but he is still doing a lot more at the business end of the pitch, Simms clodded around for about 65 minutes against a poor Oxford side and still didn't score but at least did provide an assist for Sheaf. Godden came on...

Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

Think some for players who’ve not played much will get game time in this one but stick with 4-3-3 formation Wilson Da Silva. LB Fadz. CB Binks. CB Latz. RB Kelly. CM Eccles. CM Allen. CM Palmer. ATT Godden. ATT Simms. ATT would be my stab...

Match Thread Coventry City - Sheffield Wednesday Match Thread - Tuesday 26th Dec

Tbf Binks is a more than adequate replacement good footballing defender just lacks aggression/toughness in comparison to kitching but more than capable - we have Latz & Fadz as well. it’s annoying but we have much more depth to cover these events nowadays!

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Tuesday 28th Nov

Yep assuming no knocks I'd be surprised if Mark Robins changes it tbh - if I did anything would be tempted to bring in Simms for Wright but hope we stay unchanged start xi from yday deserve their places for Tuesday night

    Wilson or Collins?

Collins has the shirt and kept a clean sheet so he starts at Millwall - I know it's quiet but a bit of a pointless thread!!! He has the shirt and it's too early to call who is better over course of season....collins not really tested against stoke. But with clean sheet and doing nothing wrong...

Match Thread Coventry City - Stoke City Match Thread - Saturday 11th Nov

Hmm thoughts - well it was pretty dire stuff from both teams tbh. Goalie and Back 4 looked solid though not really tested by Stoke but I'd keep the same 5 for Millwall. In midfield would get Kelly back in there for either Sheaf or Eccles - normally would say in for Eccles but Sheaf has not...
