I was in the Green Man the last night before closing down. It was turning into a pub for us Cov fans on the way to the Ricoh. Couple in there on to Old Crown on Windmill Road, then the Wheatsheaf. They put Cov shirts up etc in the Green Man then it shut down !

My local pub for a few years was the Jolly Colliers in Walsgrave. And throwing darts in there one early evening was Eric Bristow. I did a double take at the bar but he knew the gaffer and stopped off for some practice before going to a tournament.

My dad was a good darts player and he took on Leighton Rees the top darts player in the Hawthorn Tree pub in Tile Hill and beat him best of three. Great night that was. Any pics of the pub ?

I drank in the Livvy many times and got on well with all in there. I've mentioned it before on here you go to a "spit and sawdust pub " on a regular basis and you'll get no trouble, unless you're silly enough to look for it. Met some great people in " dodgy" pubs and felt comfortable in them.

I was looking at a property last week in Radford. I walked past another well known pub The Grapes which was boarded up. That had a reputation I heard years ago ?

Start off in the White Horse, over to the Shire, and back to the White Horse for a stay behind. That was during the week, and still got up to go to work . Weekends start off in the Acorn, then down to the Craven Arms, end up in the Red Lion. Would kill me now, and a few did pass away through too...

He supported the Sky Blues though and took me as a kid to Highfield Road. He always classed himself as a Coventry person, but always talked about Rugby the town with affection.

My late father was born in Northamptonshire, and my mum was born in the front room of her home in Walsgrave. My dad lived in Rugby growing up along with his 6 brothers and 3 sister's. A bit of a mish mash there !

Me and Houch were both born at Gulson hospital in Coventry. Making us true Coventrians. If you were born in Cov you are a Cov Kid.Although if born at Walsgrave Hospital that too counts now as a true Coventrian I hear.
