    Brainstorm

Personally I do not buy the view that Wasps want CCFC out. Why would they? They need every penny they can get to repay their bond issue, and that needs they need rent, food and drink, etc generated by Cov. I don't blame them for that, they're not villains - if anything they have tried to...

So now we're signing players from Hitchin? Transfer strategy gone wrong!

    Mowbray

I'm a big TM fan, but am I the only one concerned that he's mucked up on the transfer front? We seem painfully thin especially at the back and it does make me question him, as he and Venus have let us get to this situation where we're one day out from the opening game and we have two fully fit...

    Reda

Beat me to it Stu. Looks like we wont be seeing him in a Cov team again (unless he gets a contract as a forward for Wasps). Cue abuse for calling Wasps a "Cov team"...chill out, it's just a gentle joke about Reda's "big unit" dimensions....

    Players we shouldn't have released

Problem was that he never looked like scoring 42 for us. When it came to the decision to keep or get rid, the weight of the argument was clearly on the side of binning him off. So he's done well for himself since he's gone, doesn't mean it was the wrong decision at the time.

    Defender

Give him a try...although you do wonder whether this signing is one in the mould of "we need to get bodies in, right now" rather than the much-vaunted "anyone we bring in has to be the sort of player we want" approach which has clearly not worked.

    72 EFL club picture

The two characters on the far right on the front row look particularly strange. One is a "flamboyant"-looking type who seems to have seen far too much peroxide and sunbed action, and I'd guess isn't much used to wearing nasty nylon football shirts. The other is even more of a mystery...is it a...

    Players we shouldn't have released

Hang on a minute, is someone suggesting it was a mistake to release Chris Feckin Hussey??? Nurses, nurses, call the nurses, patient is loose!! I suppose we ought to have held on to Roy bloody O'Donovan as well. I can see the press release now. "We have offered Roy a 5-year contract, in order to...

    Stokes needs an operation

I agree and possibly the same is true regarding Philips. It appears we only have three fit senior defenders, and one of those is Haynes, the other two being Ricketts, who lost form dreadfully in the back half of last term, and Willis who seems very injury prone and on whom the jury must still...

    More Quality on the Way

I think we're probably in the territory where TM will be considering Finch, Lawton and George Thomas as first teamers. On the basis of needing 2 senior players for each position, we are now doing OK but do need three defenders including a specialist right back.

    Kelvin Wilson to Rotherham

On the plus side, at least we don't have to bear the embarrassment of putting out a team including a player whose first name is 'Kelvin'.

    Mean while back in court

The second the verdict popped up, there was a lot of startled people in my open plan office as a I leapt out of my chair whilst cheering and fist pumping, trying to high-five bemused co-workers and then walking around the office, arms aloft then playing a bit of air guitar. Happy days!!!!!!!!!!

    Mean while back in court

Why does this view persist that CCFC will be taken over b Wasps??? It'll never happen. There isn't an iota of evidence to suggest that they want to, or any reason at all for them to do so.

    Mean while back in court

Don't see why it would make any difference Torch. The club itself isn't a party to the dispute now, so presumably there would be no impact on the litigation if they pursued this as "ex-owners" rather than "owners". It's a historic dispute so current ownership shouldn't make any difference...

    Mean while back in court

That's not even a coherent sentence. Well no, they're not. They had every justifcation, in law and morally, do prevent SISU from taking over the Ricoh. I'd have done the same 100 times out of 100 if I was in charge of the council. Some fans on here seem to think that the CCC owed the City a...

    Mean while back in court

Don't call me a dope. What I mean is, and what's actually very clear, is that the law can be an ass. Many cases have seen the "wrong" verdict handed down, simply because one party has got more expensive lawyers who can spot loopholes, and get away with arguing that black is white on technical...
