My old man died in 88 and watched the cup final in 87 from his hospital bed. He knew he had about a year ( can't beat a bit of asbestos) but never complained although we knew he was scared at times. My mother kept it all going at the time and made sure everything was normal as possible. She...
It did - A day before my 32nd birthday. Full head of dark hair, no kids, physically fit, expendable income - now: 50, knackered knees, grey hair (what's left of it), 2 kids, skint - oh yeah, my football club is fucked. Happy days.
I was at the 5-1 win. January 98. Dublin X2 Huckerby X2 and Whelan. Wouldn't dream of going tomorrow even if I could. Credit to all who do though. - makes me sound like a glory hunter!
Ok, here goes: live - U2, Bruce, Pulp, Echo and the Bunnymen, James, Saw Doctor's, Florence, Wedding Present, Big Country, Dio, Michael Schenker Group, Morrissey, Gene, Ozzy, Psychodelic Furs
Not my fave band (although the sane Gallagher wrote some good songs), but Oasis first LP Definately Maybe was a proper rock album - an antidote to boy bands bands and rap shite. Played it at the weekend and it is still brilliant
I went in 84. Hot day and sober (on the motorbike) - van Halen, motley Crew, Dio, Gary Moore, Ozzy.
Also in 88 wet day and tiddled. Kiss, GnR, Dave Lee Roth. Not a modern romantic in sight!
Talking of rumours. Carole Smillie used to flick herself off in the dressing room before filming.
Worth looking up rumours on Una Stubbs, the Krankies and Lisa Stansfield
