Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

Tbf if most teams in the league lost three senier midfielders (Sheaf, Allen, O’Hare in our case, apparently) then their bench would look weakened. Just mad how quickly it’s happened from a couple of weeks ago.

Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

It’s amazing how quickly we can go from having the strongest bench in years to suddenly feeling very light.

Look out City, Mansfield on a rampage!

    1. Taxi (obvs) 2. This one where Nick noticed the opposition changed formation but thought one of the most astute professional football managers in the EFL might not of. To be fair, this is included mainly for the replies and disrespect towards Robins from a lot of posters...

Still not even in the top 3 worst threads on SBT to be fair

    Next season season tickets

That’s incredible numbers considering they’re almost certainly down. I assume they must’ve done a mad offer? (Buy a ST and get a free ticket for Roy Chubby Brown or similarly racist comic)

    Most FA cup goals

I knew people would get their knickers in a twist about it when I posted it. It’s something people weirdly clutch pearls about without even thinking critically. It’s not unreasonable to suggest that when formats change (I.e qualifying rounds, top teams joining in 3rd round etc) then records...

    After goal chant

Yeah Chelsea dagger was the Coleman years. It was pretty ubiquitous around most football stadiums in the late naughties. I could be wrong but I don’t remember it coming back under Robins?

    Most FA cup goals

This is such a pointless discussion (instigated my me so my bad 😂). You’re right btw it technically has to count but the format was completely different back then, any old team could enter with no qualifying rounds etc. Hyde had been formed for less than a year.. it’s only the same game by name...

    Most FA cup goals

Perfect, thank you 👍 we’re going to have to bag quite a few in the final then!

    Most FA cup goals

Completely agree with your broad point but the game you quoted happened before the football league was even created… look at some of the results from the first round that year 😂 I’m just saying going back THAT far is not comparing apples with apples.

    Most FA cup goals

Tbf there is a big difference between Victorian football to modern day football. Not sure records can be fairly coupled.

    Most FA cup goals

Just googled and this was In 1886… I don’t know why but I feel this shouldn’t count

    Most FA cup goals

Random one but last night we were chatting at the game saying I wonder what the record is for team goals in an FA cup run. We’ve done 11 goals in 2 rounds with Maidstone to come… I guess lower league sides get an extra 2 rounds on us but then probably wouldn’t get as far into the tournament...

    Thank you Viktor ££££££££

I thought he’d do well, but not this well. Fair play to him… and fair play to Robins for spotting the talent that Brighton and Swansea couldn’t see.. bet they must be kicking themselves too

    Torp and Sheaf Potential partnership

I don’t even think it’s as cynical as that, I just think value and hype affects psyche and observation. Eccles in some way has been a victim of just being here and steadily improving instead of coming in as a marquee signing.

    Torp and Sheaf Potential partnership

Eccles is so underrated in this squad it’s unreal. I’m in no hurry to usher him out of that CM pairing. Works so hard for us and is everywhere we need him to be. Agree Torp also looks a good player but if Eccles had been bought for £2m+ we’d be raving about him a lot more and saying what a signing.

    Player ratings

Palmer 9 and MOM for me tonight. He has everything but consistency, which I guess is why he’s here. He has great work rate, great feet, great passing and strong as an ox. Lights up the pitch. Other picks tonight were Da Silva, Torp, Eccles and O’Hare. Wright is still unconvincing for me...
