Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

I hate it when we put out a weak team for a cup game. I love the FA Cup and think we should try to go far, or at least until we get smashed by a massive team. It's good for morale and drives teams on I think. A couple of changes to use the squad maybe but not a whole second string. That game...

Simms doesn't seem to be getting anything, every time the midfielders move forward they seem ot pick the wrong pass. Wright has almost got it right a couple of times. I though Binks looked a bit shaky

Very lucky to be level at half time. Our midfield have bee poor today, they look a yard behind every time. Eccles and Sheaf not doing much. Thanks God for Sakamoto! I just hope we can settle a bit early second half.

Match Thread Coventry City - Southampton Match Thread - Wednesday 13th Dec

It felt disappointing not to win after being a goal up but 1-1 is a good result against a good team. So many of their players have played Premier League football. Because we pushed for the winner late on it felt as if we missed out but they missed a few chances too and could easily have scored a...

I highly doubt he’ll rest either Saka or OHare, they must both be feeling very confident. I hope he doesn’t change too much and go defensive, we are better with the more attacking formation and I think that’s the case even against bigger sides. Maybe Eccles for Simms and push Allen up

Match Thread Coventry City - Birmingham City Match Thread - Friday 8th Dec

Just watched that Rooney interview on Sky, he’s quite weird. Talks really quietly and looks very timid. When you think how he played the game he is a very different manager it seems. Can’t imagine him inspiring a group of dejected players. He looked desperate for the interview to end and just...

Good selection, exactly what most hoped I reckon. Eccles out is interesting. Wants to get O'Hare up and firing

Everything seems to point to a Cov win tonight, it feels like the perfect fixture to bounce back from last week. I am confident but also aware that it would feel typical to limp to an uninspiring 1-0 victory. I guess most football fans feel like it is 'typical' of their team. We have managed...

Match Thread Ipswich Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Dec

I reckon Simms will be on for Allen or OHare second half. Give it a real go with nothing to lose yes but they are second in the league with a huge amount of goals and wins at home. It doesn’t where they were last season. We’re not a top-two team at the moment and admitting that is not tin pot...

Match Thread Ipswich Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Dec

People going on about bad we are is a bit ridiculous. Fans don’t seem to notice the opposition sometimes. Ipswich are very good and it’s likely we’d have been thrashed with any formation. They’re a better side than us. I remember the same thing against Norwich a couple of years ago. It’s sad to...

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Tuesday 28th Nov

I thought we could have had a penalty in the first half for handball so it's all fair enough. Easy to say that when it goes in our favour. We were pretty toothless tonight but weren't terrible. Decent result and very happy for Wright.

I wonder if O'Hare didn't play because he hasn't done very well when he's come on. Maybe he just wants to get him up to speed away from match day. It must be hard to get back into it after a long lay-off. I guess minutes on matchday are important though and 2-0 up he could have come on for Allen...

    “Lazy”

I find this discussion interesting to read. A lot of people seem to be unable to separate the general from the specific. The OG is making an interesting and valid point about laguage bias (unconscious or conscious) and has given some statistics and examples to back up the argument. It seems like...
