Match Thread Coventry v Fleetwood Match Thread - Saturday 21st Jan

Your point about needing an inspirational player is spot on - look at the current lot. Total lack of leaders and strong personalities in that dressing room. Would you want Willis, Turnbull, Haynes, Burge, Lameiras, Bigi etc alongside you in the trenches? Sure, they're young, but none of them...

    Serious question.....?

Valid point. We have been so, so soft, since the early Boothroyd days really when he briefly turned us into a bunch of nasty fuckers. We had players then who would put their all into every 50/50, battle for every header and make sure we kept ourselves tight till the last. Also noticeable how...

Slade eager to bolster attacking options

Venus was keen on him when he was in charge - Slade not so much when he came in.

    Ben Stevenson - Brentford

I'm sure we all know someone affected by it, I do as well - but it's just an expression. No need to get so uppety

Bore off it's an expression. Yet another member of the PC brigade clearly

    Theo Wharton and Samba Diakite

Seem to remember Diakite coming in for a load of criticism in that QPR relegation season in 2012/13. One of a number of players at the time on inflated wages (Bosingwa, SWP, Taarabt etc) giving half-arsed performances and was outcast by Redknapp, barely played 2nd half of the season. Looks like...

Think he'll leave Thomas wide right for his industry and work rate and start with Tudgay and Beavon up top as the experienced two. Then introduce Jones as you say, after the hour mark.

Not sure what he'll do at left back - Haynes or Harries maybe? Don't think he'll even bother with Stokes on the bench now Willis is fit. Burge Foley Clarke Turnbull Haynes Thomas Reilly Rose Reid Tudgay Beavon RCC, Harries, Willis, Stevenson, Bigi, Jones, Lameiras

Reliable (very few in my short City career compared with others): Keiren Westwood Scott Dann Jack Cork Joe Murphy (to a lesser extent) Ben Turner (in the later days) Unreliable (the list could go on forever): Leon Barnett Reece Brown Elliott Ward Ben Turner (in the early days) Aaron Phillips...

    Checkatrade Draw Thread

I think what's more appealing to some fans is the chance to see 30k+ Cov fans in unison backing the team with the prospect of some silverware as a reward. The club has been starved of success for far too long and every Cov fan deserves to be a part of it. Yes it's a shitty trophy, with a...

    Checkatrade Draw Thread

Interestingly, Beavon scored Preston's 2nd in that game. Attendance was just over 12k, and it was live on Sky.

    Jodi Jones

Jones - McSheffrey summed him up well on comms for CWR a few weeks back. Said he was like 'a speedboat without a driver', or something similar. He needs some time to learn the game a bit better - decision making, use of his body, when to make the runs etc. It will come. Lameiras - I think he's...

    Eakinballs

Geoff Foster is honestly appalling, and Eakin not much better. How they are still in jobs there I do not know. I have no doubt, as I’m sure many others on here do as well, that I could conduct a post-match interview far better than Foster ever could, with no journalistic experience myself.

No we won't. Crewe was area final (equivalent to Semi Final). Win tonight and we'll be in the quarters.

Would probably have to be Willis (assuming he is fit/still here) alongside a half fit Stokes at CB, unless Slade drops someone rogue back there - seem to remember Gunnarsson doing a reasonable job at QPR away under Coleman when we had a CB crisis.
