Transfer Rumour Tom Davies - Pompey

Still would rather keep Willis (assuming he is off). If not, I'm happy with another cb to replace Pearson - hope he is better... How long has Jordan left on contract?

    Pearson signs

Sounds most likely. Given him a chance - he either hasn't convinced MR or convinced someone else to take a chance. Good luck either way.

Transfer Rumour Tom Davies - Pompey

More worried about Davies for Willis. Davies has played less than 60 games in 5 years - is he really going to be better than Willis - no. OK, if we need funds, Willis is one of the few who can bring some in...but is his replacement up to much? I don't know much about Davies whereas Willis is a...

Transfer Rumour Tom Davies - Pompey

At present, I agree with MR. The strikers should score some goals at this level, given previous record of some. But, if we aren't playing to their strengths, we are going to struggle. I think most can see the gap between the forward line and midfield, hoofing to a lone striker isn't working with...

    Transfer Rumour #CARLBAKERDAY

A bit harsh - perhaps his 'day' is more one in 5 or 6...have we many others who will meet this? Doyle will be more consistent, but less likely to win a game. More importantly, when it isn't their 'day' who will add most - Baker, Vinc - or other?

    Transfer Rumour #CARLBAKERDAY

I'll take the bait, as it I'd baker day (rename thread to baker summer?) Statbunker says his time at Pompey, MK and Cov yielded 52 goals and 37 assists from 299 appearances (inc 68 as sub). High number of appearances suggest he is fit and not injury prone, decent set piece taker, certainly...

Decent Link for the stattos from the Yeovil Game!

I like it - especially as he/she agrees on my man of the match, Willis! Reinforces what a number of people were saying (after the initial disappointment).

    Yeovil ratings

Apologies if I missed this elsewhere... O'Brien 5 - poor decision for first goal. Distribution not great, though he did have a few to deal with under pressure. Grimmer 6 - thought he did well against the tricky number 7 (he isn't going to win every tackle). Stokes 6 - solid. Supported wingers...

Apart from the saves, I think he commanded his box quite well - came out and claimed some reasonably good crosses/set pieces, which would have created more opportunities. His kicking was poor though.

Elements of both are true. We played better in first half, but once goal conceded (and no reply by half time) we did seem short of ideas. Shit - bit harsh in my opinion but I agree with Nick about the gap between midfield and strikers. No issue with two holding mids in away games - even when 1...

Two shots on target, Yeovil gk man of the match. Willis our best player for me. Created chances - not putting them away. Nazon looked tired - would have taken him off earlier. We look like a top ten side - will win some of these...but not top 3 at present. Need pace through middle up front.

Dead ball delivery good (for this level). Few nice touches / passes, bur slow to pull the trigger on his best chance. A good start though.

Passing has been good. Players give a damn. Most of the game been in yeovil half. A number of good chances. Possible penalty not given. Doyle annoying most of the crowd! Yes, we have conceded a soft goal (mix up of communication / poor decision). We won't win every game / score every shot or...
