A photo i saw online id never seen before of HR

The floodlights were added in 1957 so it must be after that. Can't be long after it though judging by the van and lack of TV aerials on the houses

    Sunderland crowd..

    I’d guess around 1500 left

This is the picture I was thinking about. Definitely no boxes in the Main Stand at that point

Anyone old enough to remember this view? Back of the original West Terrace from Catherine Street

This must be one of the last times HR was full in its pre all seater days.

When did those boxes go in at the front of the Main Stand? I remember seeing pictures of it in the early 70s and the Main Stand had a terrace at the front of it then

    Sunderland crowd..

They’ll be keeping that for potg I imagine

Judging by the mess of it, it’s after the seating fiasco where they’ve made a half arsed attempt to convert it back to standing

    Sunderland crowd..

Sunderland fans have been sold tickets in block 6 I think so it will be overzealous segregation again

    Sunderland crowd..

What do we expect the Huddersfield crowd to be? Huge if it’s to do with pricing presumably?

    Season Tickets!!!

I remember going to a T20 game where they were playing Northamptonshire. It was in 2014, so when we were playing in Northampton. The hate and bitterness in me was strong that game! One side had stole my football club, the other my cricket club.

Have they stopped that “Birmingham Bears” shite now? I actively cheered against them when they started that

That’s the photo I was thinking of. Showing the family stand being built on top of the pre-existing terracing. I suppose that how they were able to build it so quickly

Interestingly the original west terrace wasn’t fully demolished. They just removed the roof. The family stand was then built above it. The terrace in this picture remained until the 80s when the seats were put in and the steps had to be re-profiled

    Sunderland crowd..

It’s to spread the income out evenly across all games. If pricing is a big factor as people in this thread think, we’ll have the same number of fans at the Huddersfield game as the Sunderland one

    King et al vs SISU

I don’t think anyone is fawning over the new ownership. Most people fully acknowledge the problems that still exist in the club

    King et al vs SISU

Actually this thread is a decent read. It shows most of us singing from the same Hymn sheet. Basically Sisu were awful. So far King is better but there are still many problems within the club.

    Sunderland crowd..

I agree that team support isn’t based purely on the built up conurbation, which makes comparisons between city sizes useless. That’s the point I’m trying to make. Using that stat Leeds and Man City are amongst the worst supported teams in the country!

    Season Tickets!!!

So basically the printer at the ticket office has ran out of ink? Could this process be anymore Micky Mouse?
