Our league cross-country fixture was in Northampton today (the Division 2 ladies were also there, so that one also included Sphinx, Northbrook, Massey Ferguson). Bright, windy and cold. I ran 39:50 for a muddy, grassy, hilly 10km and it was still only good enough for 153rd. Even a minute...

    West brom attendance

I think if people can say on match threads - when questioned about being negative... "well considering how far we've come, 0-0 at Sheffield United is a dissapointment" Then i think people can have some justification in saying that 22000 or perhaps a bit less is a little disappointing...

Brampton-Carlise 10 Mile today. The oldest 10 mile road race in the country... 64:20.... aimed for 64mins so can't really quibble about 20 seconds.

    New Job Doubts

If it was me, travelling down there once a month, or even once a week, would be very appealing, assuming you're working from home the rest of the time. But its all down to personalities.... London is ok if it's just semi regular like that. For the record i worked for a Coventry company who...

Club night with Godiva last night.... 12 x 400mtr reps with 1 minute rest between. Managed them all at a consistent 3:20/km pace, which is decent but not groundbreaking by my standards. Main thing is they were completely consistent throughout, and with only a minutes rest it was a hard...

Opening fixture of the Birmingham League Cross Country yesterday, on farmland a few miles outside of Crewe. A real bumper day, as traditionally the opening fixture sees the ladies sharing the same venue, and all three mens divisions racing together. So it was over 600 on the start line for the...

    Scab?

There were a couple of high-scoring thrillers there in the first part of the season. Clark and Wilson were a superb partnership. That left-back who went to Derby (Christie?) rampaging down the flank. Funniest moment was one of the matches in the 2nd half of the season. I stood behind the goal...

    Scab?

I went to the majority of Northampton games the first half of the season, just paying on the gate. As the football was so good, i then bought a half-season ticket, i think in December... After that, i think we won one home game all season :D

    Scab?

Yes it was a poor experience. Despite only being 10-15 mins walk from the station, it really felt an out-of-town venue.... just that chain pub on the retail park. Poor crowds. Some of the football was brilliant though.

Don't know... ask the originator of the thread. Just commenting on a thread really. Definitely not expecting people to all agree with me on such a divisive issue... just saying as i saw it.

    Scab?

I went to the majority of Northampton games. Like everyone else in the stadium, didn't want to be there, but was just supporting the team, in the face of what where terrible off-the-field circumstances, and nobody really knew what was going on. Perfectly happy to lay the blame for playing there...

    Bournemouth tickets

I'm not a member, but i'm fairly sure the Nuneaton & Bedworth supporters club regularly advertise ticket/travel package on their social media for away games.

    One of the greatest games?

One of my best memories from Highfield Road was when we played Leeds late 90's and was actually a defeat... 3-2 i think... it was the one where Hadji scored that half volley which was on goal of the month on MOTD. Brilliant match, brilliant atmosphere from both sets of fans.

    One of the greatest games?

At 3-3, Peter Ndlovu then went on a run past most of their defence then managed to miss... if i remember correctly, he might have hit the post/crossbar.

Ah yes, the county champs on Jan 6th (or is it 8th?)... Quite flat, twisty and fast for the most part, one decent hill towards the end of a lap, then downhill into the finish. Usually a two lap race i think. We are blessed round here to have such a strong XC league and regional/county champs...
