Match Thread Coventry City - Burnley FC Match Thread - Saturday 5th Apr

Got a feeling we could we see a return to a back 3 for this one? Collins/Wilson Lati Thomas Kitching MVE Sheaf Grimes Rudoni Saka Simms Wright Or if we stick with a back 4 Collins/Wilson MVE Thomas Kitching Bidwell Sheaf Grimes Saka Rudoni Wright Simms Don’t really fancy either GK but would...

Match Thread Sheffield United - Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 28th Mar

Can’t be arsed to read through the past 20 pages or so, but this is fu****g embarrassing, every one of them. Defensively shambolic. Over ran in midfield Saka, EMC and Haji not broken sweat. O’Hare now on, goal incoming no doubt just to complete the misery…

    Championship thread 24/25!

Embarrassing/comical/dreadful defending by Norwich. Their 33 looks a proper liability. They do carry a goal threat though so this could end up any kind of score, very open.

100% agree and same experience re logged in but adverts. Rendering it pretty unusable, sadly.

Match Thread Coventry City - Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 15th Mar

I like these last few posts and it will be interesting to see if FL sets us up to win or not to lose… A back 3 certainly means Grimes has to play further forward but does he naturally drop too deep as we haven’t gotten a natural ball playing centre back…. For me it also demonstrates what a...

Match Thread Derby County - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 11th Mar

As many have said, too many below par performances; Kitching, Bidwell, Wright, Eccles… Amateur/Sunday league defending at the free kick for their goal. Pitch is awful for this day and age, but obviously the same for both sides. Step up in quality needed 2nd half.

    Match Thread Home game atmosphere

Super yesterday - much more like it, helped by the last minute winner of course. But please to a higher authority, can they sort out the prematch music…. Nothing sums up an intimidating/ferocious home support like the Heartbeat theme tune.

    Stoke player ratings

Reading some of the ratings-comments it makes me wonder if I was at the same game… Stodgy performance but battled well without much movement/fluidity ~ 6’s and 7’s all round. And everyone loves a last minute winner Thought Midfield was pretty non existent in general play. 2 very well taken...

Match Thread Coventry City - Stoke City Match Thread - Saturday 8th Mar

Not fussed on the numbers - the ground will be full(ish). Hoping for: Crowd up for it and 90mins wall of sound Players up for it and on the front foot from first kick Comfortable 3-0 win Expecting: Raucous crowd for first 10, sporadic for the rest Stoke using every s***housery trick in the...

    How good were the crowd?

On the whole, thought it was much better today

    Ipswich player ratings

Those ratings are bob on for me. Pretty sh**e all round. Delayed kick off = pretty tinpot, weird team selection from the off, below par performances by all, some were shocking for the levels we want to be playing at. On to Tuesday, where a different looking side, with some desire and...

    Ratings

Total and utter, woeful sh**e, after the first 15 mins. Collins, MvE, JDS piss poor Thomas and Binks very marginally better. Improved when Lati came on but couldn’t have got worse Saka - how on earth he lasted the full 90…., dreadful Sheaf good 1st half, off it completely in the 2nd. Torp...

FA cup 3rd round. Thirteen quid. Not bad.

Absolutely agree, sensible pricing. Also quite fancy a 6pm Saturday KO too

    Cardiff player ratings

Thoroughly atrocious performance. Another Saturday afternoon to question my sanity. All of the starting XI way off the standard required for Championship football, against a poor Cardiff side but at least they had some fight about them. We were One paced, no movement/creativity. 62% possession...

Fuck me. I posted that yesterday before news on KP move (or at least I’d heard it) Apology accepted though, no worries…

    Palmer leaving

Same. Can understand why views differ on KP. I generally saw more positives than negatives with his place in the squad but as many have said, consistency was the main issue. Let’s see what happens through the rest of the day………

Match Thread Coventry City - Norwich City Match Thread - Saturday 31st Aug

Assuming no major in’s/out’s, this is my preference for starting XI - I know not very probable (I.e. Sheaf and KP starting) Not a fan of playing two so left footed cb’s and don’t believe Lati has done much wrong to merit losing the shirt. Binks has the other spot and don’t see this changing on...

Match Thread Coventry City - Oxford Utd - Match Thread - Friday 16th Aug 8pm KO

It’s hard for me to fathom, after 1 or 2 games, as throughout the season we will play how we did against Stoke and win, similarly draw and conversely play much better and lose. We will likely lose +/- 15 games this season, is everyone going to worry every time we do… ^This absolutely 100%
