I know you weren't, but technically we will be in 10 days of official mourning, I dont expect it to happen, but theoretically it could be all suspended for the next 10 days which would beI didnt say cancel the next three Im against cancelling the next three Im only on about WBA
Games have gone ahead tonight?
What is postponing going to achieve?
Ridiculous.Football update - The Vice-Chairman of one of the L2 clubs i work with messaged me tonight to say that the EFL are meeting the government tomorrow but he's expecting all this weekends across EPL, EFL and FAWSL to be postponed.
Can't you go for the old "she is my 3rd cousin, twice removed" routine? You know what won’t get postponed? My weekend shift at work. This country is pathetic
I take it wont be taking the national days holiday planned thenThis is absolutely ludicrous. If anyone wants to mourn, they are free to do so, but the completely predictable death of a 96 year old shouldn’t mean the country has to come to a standstill. We’re not in the 19th century anymore.

Is that on Saturday then?I take it wont be taking the national days holiday planned then
So players can not choose to mourn because you want to watch them play.....Like I said, if it means anything to you then crack on with your mourning. No need to inflict it on the rest of us though.

In that case, the whole country should be allowed to choose whether or not they want to go to work over the next 10 days.So players can not choose to mourn because you want to watch them play.....

No day off but entertainment for the peasants cancelled. Fuming. You know what won’t get postponed? My weekend shift at work. This country is pathetic
I’m very sad at the loss of the Queen. She has been a constant in everyone’s lives for decades. I’m still not sure if cancelling the weekends sports fixtures is necessary though. I can hear all the kids going off to school today, my wife and daughter went off to work at UHCW this morning……Life does go on, no doubt we will all pause for the funeral and then reflect once more on the great lady.
I'm genuinely saddened by this news, but as far as I can tell everyone is at work today. Tomorrow, people will be on the High St shopping; pubs will be open, restaurants running as normal and people will be going to the movies. Why is it only football that has to make these grand gestures? Also, football bring communities together, so there would have been some really nice scenes tomorrow and people would have raised a glass.
It seems this benefits nobody, certainly those who have spent good money on non-refundable train and hotel bookings; or local businesses who will have stocked up on food and drink, some of which will now have to given away or thrown away because it won't last until October 1st. Doesn't make much sense tbh.

as far as I can tell with the cricket all it has achieved is upsetting loads of people who had booked travel and hotels which they can't get refunded and led people to wonder what they're planning for day 3,4 and 5 given there's not been a single ball on day 1 or 2.I still don't get what it achieves!

It's completely draconian and old fashioned.
People who have never cared about sport, unless it is a social occasion (Ascot, Lord's, Wimbledon etc.), and, more importantly, despise everything that football offers.Who is making the decisions?

By the sounds of things haven’t stopped though.I would guess the issue is royal protocol would have been written many many years ago. Where news was slow and people where attached more to the Royals. So things stopped as a mark of respect as the news swept the country.
So kinda outdated now aways.
Depends on whether or not they let the pubs stay open longerLet's be realistic, how many are going to actually be mourning in this day and age?
By the sides of it, things haven’t stopped though.
Good to see you could still understand my best Charles impression.Yeah, everything is business as usual.
