Are the Trust incontact with any of the involved parties ?The EFL said every 3 months they expect an update on the progress. When those 3 months start however is anyone’s guess!
CCFC fans won’t impact the outcome of elections. Can we stop this magical thinking please? Just like we won’t impact hedge funds, we won’t impact a rugby clubs bottom line, we won’t impact the electoral chances of any candidate local or national.
Everyone knows. The issue isn’t awareness. It’s simply down to Wasps changing their mind and they either will or won’t do that.
All we can do is ensure there’s a club to come back whenever it happens. And you do that by supporting the team. That’s our job.
If this is true, what is the upshot? Do we just sit on our hands and let things carry on around us? Why aren’t there protests at what the council are doing? Hard to see that the telegraph could ignore several hundred City fans who protest outside the council house. I would be up for this, would you?Duggins slipped up and admitted, after months of denying it, that the club had made serious enquires. The council, as far as we are aware, still haven't responded to those enquiries.
When this came out it was ignored by the Telegraph, CWR and the Trust.

Okay, what is your solution? It is true, Duggins said it himself on the radio.
People need to get past people standing outside a building making a blind bit of difference.
Okay, what is your solution?
Okay, I’m up for that. How do we get the media to put pressure on them? How do we get them to answer questions and how do we get to be a constant annoyance? Whatever we do, we need to do it soon and get the ball rolling. It needs constant pressure to all of them, media, questions, annoyance.
When you have Duggins bragging about being able to make something up because of public opinion then you know there's a problem. The trust questioned that by "protesting" against him by shaking his hand and being thanked for protesting against SISU by him.

Assuming that the Trust are not going to do this, would it be possible to put one together from this forum? I would think that it needs to be an institution rather than just individuals. It would also need to be taken up by both traditional and social media.I been saying for about a year now that open letters demanding answers at all of them should be being fired out regularly.
On your first point the clue is they are the landlord unfortunatelyBeing devil’s advocate here why do we need to be in negotiation with Wasps.
Are we so desperate to be back in Coventry

Assuming you mean the Trust? As they seem to have no intention of asking anything of Wasps or the council I think that that one is a dead duck. I think we can leave them out of the equation. What can we do to get the ideas you have mentioned working?Which fans have links with the media to get the ball rolling and why are they refusing to do so?
Questions that need to be asked.
Doesn't stop SISU giving that as an update as the O/P says that would keep the pressure on the councilDuggins slipped up and admitted, after months of denying it, that the club had made serious enquires. The council, as far as we are aware, still haven't responded to those enquiries.

It really needs to come from the Trust, hence the numerous threads of here and social media wanting them to pressure all sides.Okay, I’m up for that. How do we get the media to put pressure on them? How does it put pressure on the council? When it came out that SISU had approached the council and the council hadn't responded there was zero pressure on the council but lots of people posting saying it was a waste of time and SISU will never build a stadium.Doesn't stop SISU giving that as an update as the O/P says that would keep the pressure on the council

What if nothing is happening and we are drifting towards another season at St Andrews?
Imo the point to push first is where is there, or is there a suitable site to build a new ground within our city it puts all parties on the spot. Does it have to be on council owned land ? for example, I’ve mentioned Hearsall Common before which is common land under the control of ccc but next door to the common is a large industrial estate where there’s a couple of empty large units which might be big enough for a HR type ground.
That would be a good site. It's right next to Canley station which has regular trains. Near the A45. Only a couple of residences in the area. Village hotel next door might like the room rent from away fans and pre-match bar takings.
Is that the former Palmer and Harvey warehouse?
Thanks OSB for your assessment.Unlikely to be anything said any time soon in my opinion.
Wasps dont issue many statements and the ones they do usually give very little detail. They wont have changed their position
CCC will have been advised by their legal department not to comment whilst the EC investigation goes on. CCC wont provide any details on a possible new stadium discussions, apparently its confidential.
SISU have had their say and have either had no positive reply from the parties or replies that dont always make sense. They dont usually say much in any case and wont have changed their position. Being quiet suits them especially whilst CCFC are doing well. They triggered the EC investigation and it will rumble on with SISU knowing nothing will move until the EC decide what to do.
CCFC want everyone to concentrate rightly on the football & team so wont want to muddy that with off field matters. They are talking up the benefits of a different pitch other than that its about the manager & team.
EFL. Well so long as the competition is running ok they can and will park any issues until next year
Trust. I am pretty sure they will have asked all the parties questions but have received no recent replies to report
Looks to me that everyone is hunkered down to let this rumble on until the EC report back
The Boddy comment could simply be to remind parties that whilst "dialogue" is going on that they are covered by the NDA, which suits the owners i suspect. I am not at all sure there is anything substantive or meaningful really going on. What could be said? "changed your position?" "No, you?" "No" "Speak to you next month"
Great shout!! On itThanks OSB for your assessment.
Whilst we are still members of the EU, we do have MEP's and it might be worth asking the question to our representatives at Brussels for a statement on the progress with the EU's investigation of the complaint made by SISU regarding the sale of the Ricoh to Wasps. They will have to respond, if only to say the process hasn't been started ...or we might be lucky to find out a timeline for a decision.
If that's what he's referring to then it's not empty anymore
Yes, unfortunately I cant see anyone rushing to do anything until the EC ruling is published, and I cant see that going against wasps/council (albeit with my limited legal knowledge)I assume the OP is not being entirely serious
He has to be aware that there will be no news.
The council will not be talking to the club or the owners.
We can pretty safely say Sisu and wasps holdings will not be speaking at all. The two clubs may have an open line of communication with each other but that is meaningless - foot soldiers in the battle
The situation will not change until the complaint is decided - if it’s upheld then unless wasps changes stance there is a real problem. The impact on revenue and added cost is probably sustainable for a year but to retain competitiveness the ongoing costs will be too much
I suspect little will happen until next summer
nick.eastwood@wasps.co.ukSorry does anyone have an email for nick Eastwood or derek Richardson ?
I think if wasps come back to the table, it might be to SISUs favour to negotiate something more long term and lucrative. SISU have backed up their threat twice now about moving away where we didn’t think they had the minerals to follow through. Half of me wants to just watch wasps burn on their own at the Ricoh graveyard but that isn’t going to be good for us long term staying at SA.Yes, unfortunately I cant see anyone rushing to do anything until the EC ruling is published, and I cant see that going against wasps/council (albeit with my limited legal knowledge)
If the attendances hold up at brum, and we continue to be welcome there, why would sisu want to return to the ricoh to help prop up a struggling wasps? (Despite their publicly stated desire to return)
The council will just sit back now and let the two clubs sort themselves out, and will only be involved for planning purposes, regarding any potential new ground.
Sisu will stay at brum and hope wasps go bust in the meantime (which is more than likely)and are forced to negotiate some kind of joint ownership of the stadium.
I guess it depends how long sisu think wasps can survive for.I think if wasps come back to the table, it might be to SISUs favour to negotiate something more long term and lucrative. Huh. A very strange question.
