It doesnt help either though with the tragic away followings , barely anybody brings over 5-600 max , although i do believe preston will bring about 1000-1500mand with the 2 away games coming up , we can hope for an attendance of maybe 13-14k surely
Yes very disappointed with the turn out looked like it would be a big crowd with all the queues outside?
The Casino was rammed the season ticket/collection queue looked like they wouldn't even make kick off.
But the ones that did turn up were in good fettle tonight helped the team to push on especially after the equaliser.
So well done Sky Blue Army.
Can we stop this crap now? I went today (season ticket) and I don't care who didn't go, we all support the club and should be celebrating a victory not slagging people off.
While I agree with you thats its a pointless debate especially on this board , where 99% are loyal fans. But I do care that 16k fans can abandon a team they support. If they were in the ground each week it would have a knock on effect to the team through atmosphere and to SP in funds for bigger wages or player purchases.
I'm not talking about reason why you didn't go. I couldn't give a fuck.
I'm talking about your several reasons excusing the low crowd.
We can get a round each
No, sorry not good enough. We need to be asking the question why the majority who shared in the glory just over a week ago on an inconvenient timing, with the game being shown live, after a win, couldn't make it today. Can we stop this crap now? Finance mate, finance. I live away from Coventry and can only budget for so many games a season. Do not however call me a part time fan!!!!No, sorry not good enough. The fan base potential is there, it's up to the club to get them coming through the gate.
People aren't going to queue up for 1-2 hours and do all the running around and chasing for tickets in a regular L1 fixture.
You ask the question and we have all gave you our answers.
The reasons I have heard and seen on here for it not being 27k today is:
Money - people haven't loads of cash.
Fans - face it a lot of people went last Friday just because it was a be there game. Sadly.
Family - people have wives, children, parents to consider. That's life.
Ticket prices - is £22-27 (dependant on stand and day) value for money? Most will argue not. I am excluding family stand of £18 due to lack of fans will want to sit here.
Opposition - all due respect who wants to watch yeovil town? They are not a big draw. Fact. Brought what 400 fans. What would SU bring?
2 games in a week doesn't help due to some of the above mainly family life and money.
Work - yes people work on a Saturday you know.
Distance - not all Cov fans live in Coventry. Just ask astute. This makes it very hard for some. Extra costs and more time needed.
Ticket office - it's well documented it's been bad this week and people can't get tickets and posting problems. Long queues and angry fans don't help. Website is not great and many fans don't know to use chrome or Firefox.
That enough reasons for you?
I actually think 11k fans is a decent turn out for a league 1 fixture and considering all of the above. Just my opinion.
Again, who only goes to watch the opposition, coventry city were playing so why does it being yeovil matter? Why does the amount of fans the opposition bring come into it when going to watch your club.
Ticket prices, doesn't make sense. Just get an 18 ticket if you can't afford an expensive one and sit where you want anyway.
Family reasons, work and distance I can totally understand.

Maybe its about time we realised as supporters exactly what we are ... A medium sized club playing in its lowest division for 50 years enjoying its lowest home gates averages (in cov ) for 40 odd and 90 odd years .
we should use this as a starting block , we are currently a 10k team , things can only get better hopefully on and off the pitch , lets stop worrying about the attendances as im sure with this squad we will do well this season and supporters will slowly start coming back .
after all , we havnt exactly had a great 15 years that warrant big gates
Surely the feelgood factor and euphoria of coming home has to last for more than just one single game hasn't it?
But I think you are missing the point slightly there, Evans, that after 18 months away and a 27,000 crowd for that first game, at the moment we shouldn't be a 10,000 fan team!
Surely the feelgood factor and euphoria of coming home has to last for more than just one single game hasn't it?
I find it quite shocking. No-one was expecig another 27,000, but surely we could have managed 15,000 or 16,000.
After so long away and people being so delighted for us to be back, I find it beyone beilef that fans could desert the club in such numbers in such a short space of time, and that's what we are talking about here, a 16,000 drop in one single week.
Forget about history and where we have been in the past, this is about the here and now and a more than alarming drop in numbers. The feelgood factor should still be in place and the city should still be buzzing and the clamour for any tickets for any City game should still be great.
It's all very sad.
you must have been a little suprised at the attendance yesterdayWhat alarming drop in numbers? How many were we getting in this division before our club was removed from Coventry?
Some seem to struggle with the idea of there being several reasons why only 11k turned up. I know of a few that will still only do away games. I know of a couple (family members) that have not been because of what Richardson did to our club and won't return until our club is run properly. We even have a few that never went yesterday having a go at those that never went to the Yeovil game.
Yes it was not a good turnout, but under all the circumstances it wasn't a bad one either.
Not everyone just sat in a chair hoping that one day their club might come back, some people moved on.
But they hadn't moved on a week earlier. If we'd got 11k for Gillingham, that argument would be a lot easier to accept. Especially when Gillingham was moved to a Friday evening and was on the telly.
As it stands, the club may as well charge £500 a season ticket, £30 for a match day ticket and forget about any offers.

So are you saying that yesterday at the Ricoh was the only example of that in the entire 125 year history of the Football League?
Can I just ask, do you consider the football club to have organised the last two games well? Do you think massive queues are acceptable for an 11k gate?
That was one game, easy to rearrange stuff for the one off. A bit like me going into work on Monday and saying I need to leave early that day. That would be fine. If I went in and suddenly said I need to leave early every day from now on that would cause an issue.
Surely as a fellow football fan you realise that people go to games out of habit? And that habit has been broken.
Sorry, I am just trying to find in those lines you made bold where I said they had organised things well? They were probably in the posts I have made saying they have been shocking.
What I was saying was who goes to watch THEIR team based on who they are playing?
