Wonder why it never got over the line. At least it’s nice to hear it was Robins who reached out. From what I can make out, Robins may have reached out based on a recommendation from within (the latter part not confirmed but CR is known by at least two people already at the club).

So from what we can see now, this stuff about “robins doesn’t want this and he’s going to walk” was just more third-hand gossip that’s turned out to be rubbish.
How so?
Only way that can be proven was if Ramsay joined no?
He hasn't. As Robins didn't want it
Doug listened to him for once

May well be the case, it does make more sense than what I was told deffoUSSkyBlue said Robins may have reached out initially so was on board. Would be strange for him now 'not want it'?
Not questioning your credentials, but that bit just doesn't add up to someone who seemingly had more of a connection with someone involved in discussions.

You said that “Robins is going to walk because he doesn’t want this”.
Then the guy that first talked about it, the OP- who does indeed know people- highlighted that it was Robins himself that reached out in the first place.
The dramatic gossip you put up makes no sense, it was bollocks.
Not saying you’re wrong but that’s not how it was relayed to me, or how it was put to CR.
Talks must have gone well enough with MR last Wednesday that the next step was to agree a package with the owner. However, CR was called by a female (we can take a good guess at who that was) and told that the owner didn’t think the time was right.
The questions remain on who initially reached out. The common denominators are the performance director and a member of the recruitment staff (that CR knew from their time at Spurs.) It’s possible Robins reached out after a recommendation from one/both of them.
Either way, it isn’t happening
Gonna make something up soon just to really annoy you
Think we can all read between the lines on that one.Not saying you’re wrong but that’s not how it was relayed to me, or how it was put to CR.

Of course. Just if the wording was King didn't think the time was right, I'd guess that's because MR's position isn't secure. In fairness, people can make of it what they want because there’s gaps to fill. Either MR wasn’t keen and CR got the brush off, or MR was keen and DK wasn’t. Kinda moot now as both roads lead to no appointment.
I’ve got nothing to pedal, or agenda against anyone.. just relaying what I was told.
Of course. Just if the wording was King didn't think the time was right, I'd guess that's because MR's position isn't secure.
That's an interesting take TBF.
If, and it's a big if, those were the words used, that's how it comes across to me. Why appoint an assistant to a manager who might well not be here in a few months' time? That's an interesting take TBF.
To be fair this was my thought when reading this as well.Of course. Just if the wording was King didn't think the time was right, I'd guess that's because MR's position isn't secure.
Unless there's some clauses inserted into their contracts then those new coaches will be staying anyway. Just my thought reading that one sentence, but looking at how disjointed things are on the pitch and the tough run of games we have coming up, it really wouldn't surprise me.To be fair this was my thought when reading this as well.
As let’s say Mark is gone in November you’d have to sack both him and the new assistant and new coaches which would be a fortune regardless but seems a slight way to make it cheaper.
So your source was Doug king who to avoid paying a new salary, lied that robins didn’t want him.Gonna make something up soon just to really annoy you
Maybe but I’d assume coaches could be moved at the club if a new manager demands new coaches.Unless there's some clauses inserted into their contracts then those new coaches will be staying anyway. Would be very odd for someone to be approached and offered a job to the point it was just finalising the contact with the performance director and owner having no clue it was happening.
Absolutely it’s odd to have CR in to talk to MR, then CR going away thinking the next discussion was with the owner re: compensation. Only to have the owner have someone else call, to tell CR the timing wasn’t right.
100%. Does genuinely for me sound like Robins doesn’t have the trust with Doug he once had.Absolutely it’s odd to have CR in to talk to MR, then CR going away thinking the next discussion was with the owner re: compensation. Who, me m8?You know it’s serious when he stops calling people m8.
That was my take on it.Of course. Just if the wording was King didn't think the time was right, I'd guess that's because MR's position isn't secure.
£££££Maybe but I’d assume coaches could be moved at the club if a new manager demands new coaches.
I’ve also been thinking this. Maybe King wants Robins out, so is making it difficult for him - give a man enough rope etc. That was my take on it.
I don’t think he *wants* MR out, if he did then he’d have got his own choice in soon after taking charge. I do think at least in his mind he’s giving MR no excuse to fail and it’s getting close to that line being crossed hence no new expenses while we see if he can ride this bad form out.I’ve also been thinking this. Maybe King wants Robins out, so is making it difficult for him - give a man enough rope etc.
New manager and assistant already possibly on call?
