17th January 2009 Coventry 2 (Boozy 47', Mifsud 51') Blackpool 1 (Campbell 25') is the last time we've come from behind to win a league game (167 league games ago)

Another oddity and embarrassment is consistency of players.

Listening to a guy on CWR from the local radio in MK on Tuesday and he was talking about the consistency of players such as Darren Potter in the midfield and one or two others and he said that invariably they played consistently well every game.

Now I know as a team they have been up there for a while, but even poor teams have two or three players who put in consistently decent performances most matches.

From my recollection last season we pretty much only had Keogh who seemed to achieve anything like a half decent level week in week out. Thing is though, been trying to mull over previous seasons going back and am struggling to come up with many names at all for players who have shown any level of consistency.

We've had too many Baker's and Bell's and Hussey's and McSheffrey's for far too many seasons. Players where you get the occasional great effort from then nowt else for weeks.

It is quite shocking when you think about it.

Which other players have we had who have been consistently good week in week out over the past few years? Westwood? Errr ........ and ..... :thinking about: :(

Doyle :) ... turner wasnt always consistant but was always improving or playing well, same could be said for gunner, dann, fox, best, morrison. I think we should never of got rid of Big Dele, not always the best but on his day he was un-playable!

Many wingers/attacking/flair players are fairly inconsistent at this level. Where we have struggled is our back 4 and central midfield haven't put in consistent performances

Don't agree with many of these names, but I will give you Fox and Dann. Just my opinion.

thought we beat portsmouth in the cup at fratton park. david bell scored a cracker fro 25 yards? or was that in the league?
That was under Coleman about 3 seasons ago now I think, we drew 1-1 at Fratton part and lost in the replay in extra time. The game I am on about is when King scored 2 penalties an we won 3-0

Not in promotion chasing sides.

Anyway our players are consistent....consistently poor with the odd blip of quality

Yes they are, I said many not all. Most promotions sides will have 1 consistent goal scorer who will be a regular 1 in 2 striker like your Holt/Lambert/Rhodes, then probably have 3 or 4 less consistent attacking players who will chip in as the season progresses

Then get some consistency in the middle an in defence and you are good to go

I would agree with the second part though

I know you didn't mean all :) i just find its a bit of an easy excuse to say that attacking players/wingers are mostly inconsistent.

I mentioned promotion chasing sides, because they don't really carry passengers, everyone contributes. And although promotion sides squally have 1 decent striker, attacking players/wingers are also there to create those opportunities.

Rhodes scored for fun but Novak (11 assists, 13 goals), Hunt (10 assists) and Ward (9 assists) consistently created opportunities for him

Lambert scored goals but Lallana ( 11 assists, 8 goals) and the Ox (8 assists and 9 goals) contributed consistently (plus Barnard and Prado)

Holt was top scorer but was backed up by Hoolahan (13 assists and 11 goals), Lappin (10 assists), etc

in my 35 years on this planet, CCFC have had 29 managers !

Always thought there was something strange about you. What planet do you originate from;)

We were the first club to be top of the table when the Prem started. Been a bit downhill since though :(

I saw this stat on GMK, I assume you either got it from there or you are the same guy who wrote it. I took the trouble to check because I couldn't believe it had been that long, in fact we came from behind to beat Watford in September 2009 which makes it about 139 games. Still an appalling record but not quite as bad.

Another worry for me is MOTM performances by midfield players.

There was Baker against Brum. Struggling to find many more (if any) over the past few years past that though.

What other MOTM performances have we had from a midfield player over the past 2 or 3 seasons? Bet you can probably count them on one hand.
