Mind's logo will appear on the shirts of all 72 EFL clubs next season as part of the new style names and numbers being launched for the 2018/19 campaign.
The iconic new design will for the first time in English football, incorporate a charity’s logo into the player name on the back of every EFL shirt across all 72 Clubs in the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two.
The squiggle part of Mind’s logo will be joined into the first letter of the player name – with the player’s name replacing the Mind wording - in a unique design to celebrate the new partnership which sees Mind become the EFL’s new Official Charity Partner from the start of the next season.
In a ground-breaking new partnership the EFL and Mind will be joining forces from the beginning of 2018/19 to use the power of football to help improve the nation’s mental wellbeing.
With one in four individuals affected by mental health problems, the EFL will work with its network of 72 clubs and community trusts to promote Mind’s message and services to millions nationwide with four ambitions to promote better mental health. The partnership will look to focus on the following areas:
Support for EFL players, managers and staff
raise awareness about mental health with fans, clubs and staff
raise funds to deliver life changing support
improve the approach to mental health in the EFL, in football and in wider society
Mind were chosen to become the EFL’s Official Charity Partner from the start of the 2018/19 season on an initial two-year basis.
A full launch of the new names and numbers will take place before the start of the new EFL season.
That £99 Sheff W shirt is probably a match day shirt. This is an imported concept from the US where replica shirts are a lower price but if you want a football shirt that has all the same materials/fabrics as what the players actually play in, it will cost a lot more.
It shows how little attention I've paid to top-flight football because I've only just noticed this when I looked up the price of lovely France 2nd kit. It's a whopping £65 for the standard replica from Nike - called the "stadium" kit, and £99 for the players actual kit. DAMN!
I'd never pay full whack for one but I got an old player issue Scotland shirt for five a side and the difference in quality between them and the replicas is like night and day. So light and no chance of irritation whereas some replicas come with the danger of removing a nip.
I did often wonder if they were different, I know Nike go on about Dri Fit and the sweat repelling but if you wear a football shirt to the gym compared to a normal light cotton t shirt the stink is horrendous.
Has anyone bought a junior yet and if so, how generous are they in sizing? My daughter is 10 and will be 11 in September but is quite skinny but average height. If they had a 10-11 I'd get it, but according to sizing MB=9-10 and LB=11-12. Bearing in mind she'll be almost 12 at the end of the season, but will be a mascot early on. I don't want to buy one that will bury her but would like her to get the full season out of it. I'm thinking 9-10 (MB) hmmmmm

Got one for my lad who is nearly 10, he's not particularly tall or wide but the 10-12 he had this season won't fit for much longer, he's got the 12-13 this season.
The 12-13 is 60cm long and 41cm wide, last seasons 10-12 was 54cm long and 35cm wide, so I guess the 11-12 will be the same.
