Not really. The goalkeeper plays for Southend and the majority of the others are out on loan at League 1/2 clubs.

Maddison qualifies for the Republic of Ireland too so looks like England are making the first move to get him to commit to them.

Only because Maddison has signed for a premiership albeit about to be relegated has he got a call up.

He won't be missed. Either will Armstrong on current form. Stephens maybe.

1. After the start he had to the season, I'm saying he (Maddison) won't be missed
2. He's been called up after such poor form!

If he hadn't signed for Norwich, would he be getting called up? I'm not sure, especially since he's been in much better form and not been called up

He was going to be called up before his injury. The last squad included:

Ted Smith (Southend)
Aaron Kuhl (Reading)
Jermaine Anderson (Peterborough)
Reece Brown (Birmingham)
Demarai Gray (Birmingham *before his move*)
Che Adams (Sheffield United)

So, I don't think there's any real Premier League bias, probably checking out what a young promising player can do in a friendly game.
