Well done to James on his call up. I make it five current CCFC players from the academy\graduated through the academy who represent their country at youth level - James Maddison (England U20s), Cian Harries & George Thomas (Wales U19s) and Darragh Leahy & Kyle Finn (Republic of Ireland U17s\18s).

as for the games put martin with ricketts,lorentzken rb and hunt or haynes LB

upfront play fortune with either tudgay or henderson

lameries for maddison

still have to take 4 pts from those 2 games imo

Not really. The goalkeeper plays for Southend and the majority of the others are out on loan at League 1/2 clubs.

Maddison qualifies for the Republic of Ireland too so looks like England are making the first move to get him to commit to them.

Only because Maddison has signed for a premiership albeit about to be relegated has he got a call up.

He won't be missed. Either will Armstrong on current form. Stephens maybe.

Why is there an under 20's game is there any age group that doesn't have a team now a total waste of time effort and money, the players in this would be far better off playing league football than pissing around playing the world powers that are Canada may as well be playing England ladies.

Not sure what I'm more surprised about;

1. After the start he had to the season, I'm saying he (Maddison) won't be missed
2. He's been called up after such poor form!

If he hadn't signed for Norwich, would he be getting called up? I'm not sure, especially since he's been in much better form and not been called up

I said we'd lose Arma and Stephens (and Cargill if he had been fit) for the 2 Easter games on last day of the Transfer Window and noone was overly fussed at that time. Admittedly, the Madders call-up is a bit of a surprise otherwise we could have been 4 players down.

And does anyone else find it slightly amusing that Madders wasn't worth a callup before he signed for Norwich. And now he's a "Premiership" player though still playing here, the Powers That Be deem him suitable to call up ?

He was going to be called up before his injury. The last squad included:

Ted Smith (Southend)
Aaron Kuhl (Reading)
Jermaine Anderson (Peterborough)
Reece Brown (Birmingham)
Demarai Gray (Birmingham *before his move*)
Che Adams (Sheffield United)

So, I don't think there's any real Premier League bias, probably checking out what a young promising player can do in a friendly game.

Arma played the full 90 mins for England U-19s in their 2-1 win in Georgia but he wasn't on the scoresheet. Jack Stephens was an unused sub in the U-21s draw vs Switzerland.
