At top level of Rugby every angle is captured so you can get away with very little. Similarly in top level Cricket everything can be checked.
In top level football diving and feigning injury is allowed and is rarely disciplined.
It could be CCFC ?
..... or in my case it could also be Wasps
Both are applicable in drawing fans from outside Coventry.
Tigers still seem to have a greater foothold in the local area outside Bandwagon City, whilst the Saints generally rule the roost to the East.
Open to change as people jump on the glory hunt, but Rugby's cyclical, (I know with Saints finishing 7th this season) and a proportion of those fans will desert when Wasps go through leaner times.
Just need to enjoy things when you can?
If the goings good it's a bonus when it's bad it's difficult to carry on. Thats life.
But just because its going bad for CCFC people shouldn't really slam those enjoying rugby. (Although I guess it helps)
Do Wasps fans feel passionate about their team in the same way football fans do, or is it mostly people who have no affinity to the club but just like to see top class Rugby? .

I've always wondered if Wasps won the league would there be an open top bus parade through the city and how many people would actually turn up for that.
Yes they do, but you are right that people do watch other teams if the likes of Leicester, Worcester or Northampton are playing away.
They even turn up in there colours..
I see the travelling fans from 200+ cars don't forget and talk to a lot of them.I really don't know where you get this from. I know a group of over 30 Tigers fans, as well as all the Saints fans I have met over the years, and hardly any have ever gone to watch other teams, and none have the colours of other clubs. I am of course talking about long term Rugby fans not plastics who turned up in the last couple of years.

Which team they support, where they have travelled from and the Wasps move comes into the conversation.
Perhaps why I have such a good understanding of the situation
To clarify on the colours. Leicester fans on Saturday turned up in the Leicester colours (not other teams colours)
Don't understand the word plastic fans as everybody has to start sometime.
Oh so you see all the cars in personally, and still get to the game. Feel like a fib is being told somewhere, I am sure you have said your minions do it for you whilst you lap it up in hospitality/casino.
Re Plastic fans I am sure Wasps have being in existence more than a few years...I wonder where all these fans were then?

Talking nonsense ?He employs Tony as the car park attendant so yes he is, as ever, talking nonsense - pays Tony less than the minimum wage as well so I have heard
Prefer to do my Wasps bonding during the week when I'm in the area..

So basically they won the top league in rugby and didn't sell out?
Rugby is a different attitude to football, I suspect half of that crowd were neutrals from around the midlands
Hi Nick.I know you are all worried, in case Wasps don't draw big crowds, and don't survive financially....but just to re-assure you, so you can sleep easy - it's going to be a sell out for the Semi Final next Saturday. They sold 14k tickets in 24 hours...and that was with ticket sales being restricted to season ticket holders for a lot of that time. Not many seats at all showing now - and the Leicester Tiger allocation (6 to 7k) is sold out too.
The atmosphere last week certainly wasn't neutral - it was electric. Given $aracens probably had less than a thousand visiting fans, there were a hell of a lot in Black and Gold. Few freebies either - my daughter's school was singing there, and none of the parents got free tickets. Also a record 2,400 hospitality covers.
In the Semi final, all seats will be paid for - these aren't covered by the season ticket. Will partly make up for the lost European Champions Cup home quarter final, lost due to a dodgy reffing decision after the clock had run out.
So you can all rest assured.

Dodgy refs in rugby surely not, I know 5 people who went on free tickets through the school they work at.I know you are all worried, in case Wasps don't draw big crowds, and don't survive financially....but just to re-assure you, so you can sleep easy - it's going to be a sell out for the Semi Final next Saturday. Using rugby and electric atmosphere in the same sentence.... wowI know you are all worried, in case Wasps don't draw big crowds, and don't survive financially....but just to re-assure you, so you can sleep easy - it's going to be a sell out for the Semi Final next Saturday. Firstly I don't usually engage in conversation with you since your constant flouncing, so I haven't taken the piss out of you.You take the piss out of me but can't take it when it's given back.
If you can't take it don't give it?
Oh yea I'm CCFC first Wasps second !!
This is the part of forum where CCFC matters relating to Wasps are discussed.Firstly I don't usually engage in conversation with you since your constant flouncing, so I haven't taken the piss out of you.
Secondly if you're CCFC first why are you on a CCFC forum rubbing fellow CCFC fans up the wrong way by bragging about Insect attendances.
You and the rest of the bandwagoners make me sick.
Like you and some others said about CCFC at Sixfields. If no one goes they won't be here for long.
Hypocritical wasps c**t.

I'm afraid I have to retract what I said earlier - some muppet has decided to increase ticket prices massively, earlier this week. £70 for a ticket where I sit, now, so would be very surprised if they hit much over 29k (has been 28k for some time)
