10 point deduction, it just wouldn't be a league one campaign without one.

sure Pressley would've sought advice on the ins and outs

Yes I don't think he would of done it without knowing. He wouldn't risk a penalty.

I understand the rule but what if all 11 players are injured? See what I mean

Love how they won't get involved with what stadium we play in but somehow think they are experts in deciding if Pressleys squad is too weak for a match.

Jumping ahead a little... reads as the CET suggesting they could have grounds to look into it... not that they are!

would love them try to say our team was to weak we won the game had we lost 5-0 they would have had a case but after a win the football league would just be showing how ridiculous they really are

The rules state 6 players for the previous or next game.

So if we have to play 6 of those players on Friday I guess it would be McQuoid, Swanson, Phillips, Clarke, Willis and Pugh/Coulibaly

But injuries suspensions and internationals must all play their part. surely?

I hate any ruling about 'weakened teams'. If the FA decide that the players a manager chooses are not worthy to take the field they're at fault for allowing these no-hopers to be registered as footballers. A manager should be able to pick whoever he wants from his squad, it's an insult to those players when a higher power deems them not good enough.

7.3 Each Club shall play its full available strength in and during all matches. The Board will from time to time issue a policy as to what constitutes 'full available strength'. Any Club failing to meet this requirement will be required to pay a fine of up to £5,000.

so doesn't sound like we have a great deal to worry about, shouldn't be thrown out or anything.

I get the ruling, but I think it needs reviewing, Football is now a 14 man game, subs are common place throughout each match, and its probably hampering the development of players (certainly at the bigger clubs).

As for our case Coulibaly made his debut from injury and would have featured earlier in the season, Pugh has returned from injury. We could even argue that we rested Thomas and Clarke previously in readiness for this game...

Coulibaly!!! Are you sure he is still not injured?? Sorry but he will not make the grade 9 professional games in his career no goals and he is 25??

Exactly - it does seem a strange rule, but very odd we'd have knowingly broken it!

"The rules of the competition state that clubs have to field at least six players who started the previous first team game or will start the following fixture to ensure clubs field strong sides in the Trophy."

TBF until we know the squad for Friday it is all irrelevant,
May well exceed/match the quota required.
I very much doubt it but you never know?

If an independent panel has any say on what constitutes the team that should be put out for any club, let's just do away with the concept of managers and have every lineup decided by committee. Fuck it, get Simon Cowell on board and make some real money out of it, that's what football's all about anyway.
