A number of people texting in to CWR tonight saying we need Richard Wood back (1 Viewer)

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but weren't we still getting caught on the break when Wood was playing? Weren't we still letting in sloppy goals and losing?

Wasn't the defence still just as culpable?

Next season for me we need two new centre backs. Probably 3. I would keep Willis and get rid of Wood, Edge and Cameron.

All prone to howlers, all poor when being ran at, at pace and none of them fast enough either. Don't think bringing Wood back is going to make much difference at all.

I agree with them, but I thought he was injured and therefore pointless discussion if umavailable for selection.

I think Wood would make a difference, he's better in the air and is generally better in his positioning, and also, he poses an aerial threat from corners.

Generally though, I agree, Wood earns too much to be kept, unless he takes a 2/3 cut minimum, Edj is shit, and Cameron... ... ... He can fuck off.

Its laughable hearing people phone in wishing he was back in the side. Wood is just as bad as the others really. The amount of times ive seen a winger cross a low ball in, for wood to side foot clear it, and to slice off his boot. Average centre half - another player I would see out the door tomorrow.

I don't think we'd have conceded the first goal last night if Wood had been playing. All it needed was the Edge to step up and make a tackle, but instead he just kept back tracking and let him have a free run.

Wood would've stepped in and made a challenge there in my opinion, and the danger would've been averted. Second goal I'm not so sure, but again it seemed like Edge had misjudged the ball and missed another header.
