They need to bring in the next Richard Keogh in the summer and a few other gems who will be relatively cheap and develop.
I wouldn't really expect Thomas & Christie to remain all of next season, unless we are right at the top of Lge One, Clarke too if he gets back to his old form.
The academy conveyer belt will have to spit out a couple of replacements.
Then I would suggest should individual players wages ever be announced in public please prepare to be amazed. No sarcasm intended but do you really expect anyone on here to have actual documentary evidence? If we relied on just that it would be very quiet on here - its a forum not a court of law.
God help us if this is true and Sisu are still in charge next season and won't sell.
This would all point to relegation this season followed by a relegation dogfight next year in League One.
If. That's the magic word, I think.
That's why I put "if."
KH - astonishingly I am lead to believe the Bell salary is accurate I'm afraid. Just for info I am also told that Westwood's salary went up 10 fold to around 30k a week on his move to Sunderland and Jukes nearly 3 fold to 20k at boro.
I do think SISU will hang in and get finances in shape if they have to. Sad because currently they must be the most reviled owners on the planet! They know fans will go to the Ricoh regardless of who owns the club. Probable and sadly only 10% care about who owns it....it's called unconditional support. We all do it and will continue to do it - won't we?
...i don't call 10/12/15000 fans a few hardcore?
It's a fact even in league 1 we will get gates of 10k or so. have a good season chasing promotion and that could be more than we average now!
Think outside the box peoples. If you were Hoffman just how would you look at it? Think of it as a business with huge potential for getting it right....
All the people who keep going on about not being at the Ricoh next season if SISU are in charge etc - what are you going to do if Hoffman cannot put a deal together, let alone one that is acceptable to SISU? Don't see too many alternatives if he fails? Personally I want SISU out and, if he offers something better, Hoffman in but if he fails then I for one won't be turning my back on the club however much I dislike the way the owners are running things. Its OUR club and one day we will be rid of these people but until then I cannot abandon my club.
Rob - what you have said is the real worry for me in the way the club is run - for thousands of us going to the footy on a Saturday is a way of life but as soon as you stop going you fill your time and the danger will never go back, nor will you bring your kids etc and generations will be lost. I agree wholeheartedly that the club needs to be doing masses more to entice people to games and obviously a good team is the basis of that but there is so much more they could be doing but aren't. The club is at a real crossroads and we will either dwindle away to become just an average 3rd division side like Preston or Orient or will rebuild and become a team fit for one of the largest City's in the country. We need a man (or woman) with vision and charisma - a new Jimmy Hill but that certainly isn't SISU and I don't really think its Hoff and Elliott either. It will take an act of faith from fans in many ways but I fully appreciate why many are fed up - my girlfriend asked me the other day why I bother going and it was hard to give her a rational explanation.
I did say rational - sadly love for a failing football club isn't rational - bit like her obsession with shoes and handbags but apparently those are more essential to life than food or oxygen and I just don't understand.
