A Sunday worrying thought -Just taking facts not fiction into consideration and not getting into any blame culture debates - we have lost approx approx 16,000 fans at home

22,211 2005 -2006 - first season at the Ricoh

19,123 2007-2008 season - New Owners took over

8,720 2014-2015 average so far this season

6,500 average prediction rest of the season

That's it buddy. And more worryingly the hardcore fan numbers are falling. Years back it was always said, well we have hardcore of 10k. That is now 5-6k

The statistics make very sad reading. However, it is not an irreversible trend although given the present circumstances it's very unlikely to happen. It would need investment and success and those words don't seem to be in Sisu's dictionary.
Shame on them for what they have done to our club.

I can't see us every getting back to the 2005/06 figure.

And I'm not sticking up for sisu here, but as they didn't come until half way through the season, ST's already committed, etc. The 2008-09 figure is the better one to use 17,406 - we lost c2k despite having new owners, new manager, investment in the squad, talk of PL aspirations.

A % of the attendance drop is the Ricoh curiosity wearing off (including away fans chalking off a new ground), but obviously the majority of the downward spiral we've been on.

Only success will bring the fans back so that won't be this season will it. I prided myself at never missing a home game at the Ricoh and missed only one match right up to the move to Sixfields.But my motivation has weakened this season and have missed three so far and until SISU go I'm afraid our support will probably go under the six thousand before the end of this miserable campaign.

All of the above is correct but trust me, new owners with money, a decent manager and start winning games, fans will be back. Don't underestimate how big our fan base is or can be, we are all just fed up! Of course none of the above will happen!

agreed, things can change in football in a blink and with the right enticement fans will be back
