No doubting he is a top quality player but is the international call ups hurting him? I read the article in the telegraph about what Jurgen Klopp has said about the under 19s playing 3 games in 5 days! Is this too much, I think the fact that after both international call ups Armstrong has been involved in he hasn't scored in the next couple of games for city and hasn't been at his best! Is it worth Mowbray resting Armstrong for a game after he comes back from international duty so we can get the best out of him! Thoughts?
It looks like Armstrong does blow hot and cold but as he came here and was on fire early on,maybe we expected him to do it all the time ? Mowbray keeps emphasizing that he's a young lad still learning his trade etc,so let's just enjoy it when he finds the net.
Personally I reckon he'll have one good game followed by a couple of average ones, and nothing to do with international matches, but just him developing and growing into a top striker, which I no doubt feel he will become.
3 games in 5 days in madness for U19s. Would be bad enough for players who aren't playing first team football regularly but at this stage of the season there's often 2 games a week anyway. Crazy to then take them away and play that many games.
But if he is playing 3 games in 5 days and then coming back to us and starting straight away, isn't he going to become jaded and therefore unable to perform at his best anyway?

TM has said he has been a little jaded when he's come back and has also said he's had to assess whether he should be picked or not, so it obviously is a factor.
We're still very light in the striking department, we only really have one goalscorer on Armstrong, neither fortune or Tudguy are goalscorers. Then there's G Thomas.

Let's not forget George Thomas is also an U19 International. But he was not even on the bench for the last game despite effectively scoring the goal against Fleetwood.
