Anyone no whats going on with him. I heard were in a bidding war with Leicester for him with bidding starting at 500k. Surely we have no chance of matching money bags' offers. Also, does anyone have any idea if were getting these 'Premier League' players on loan? Andy Thorn said a couple of weeks back that we have a couple of Prem players lined up for a season long loan.

Starting at £500k is already out pricing us by £500k.

Unfortunately, what takes other teams days takes us months, so while I really do believe we'll get some more players in, I'm not holding my breath.

Not sure, but Rotherham play Leicester in the Carling
Cup on Tuesday and Adam tweeted the following a few hours ago

" Great win for us today! Oxford are a strong team! Great goal from grabbs!! Tired now!! Lookin forward to leicester tues!!"

So it looks like he's there to stay at the moment.
I just hope we get him as JukeBox needs support

Simply that their chairman has been touting him around talking about bids in public as if he was a cheap whore. I think he knows he's going and is attempting to start a bidding war to get the best price. A bidding war is something we will never win.

Latest rumour I've heard is that we offered ROD and a bit of cash but they wanted Wood. Apparently the deal will be sorted out next week.

Sisu have no money to invest in the squad full stop was told today as was a few other ppl at my table by someone all city fans know. He was suprised that rotherhams chairman said 500k n he's effectivly yours, when he and others at the club were led to believe by sisu and Ken doolally we made a bid. A lot of things are not right up our club.
Btw leicester are linked to everyone to try pushin prices/wage negotiations up.

Quite rightly, we can't afford to sign Le Fondre. So we are trying alternative ways of signing him.

Sadly but realistically, those ways aren't attractive options for Rotherham.

The deal was on, they wanted Freddie. He then got injured so we offered RO'D - deal stalled.

Unrealistic of them, really-I wouldn't expect any of our players to consider a moe to Rotherham. Maybe Platt at a push, but Freddy is on as much money as their squad between them! Never gonna happen.

Also..swapping a striker for a striker isn't really helping, is it? That leaves us with exactly as many options

We haven't really got many bargaining chips have we!! If we are talking about swap deals then I think Freddie would have been a good option for both parties, though as you quite rightly say, swapping a striker for a striker doesn't help the squad much in terms of our strikeforce does it.

So who else could be an option for a swap deal? As has been mentioned, Richard Wood. Would he drop down a division though? It would be Yorkshire for him, but I'm not sure he would want to make the step down. Same too for McPake.

Here's a thought though. What about Carl Baker? He came from League One, has struggled in the Championship and really hasn't quite made the step up. Would we all be happy if it were Baker for Le Fondre? He's proved he can perform in the third tier. Could be a good deal for both parties and be a more appealing deal for Rotherham.

We need to add to the squad, and not give players away.

We haven't got any money!! Hence the offer of a player exchange!

To the OP, why would Leicester be interested in a league 2 striker, so far everybody in the know says we have offered or they want Wood, Eastwood, ROD and Platt.... makes me think nothing of the sort is actually going on.
