Adi Viveash v Mark Robins (1 Viewer)

Adi Viveash already said (in his interview) he is using a formation MR does not understand (all levels at the club are now playing the same system) . So who is setting the team up for games (sure Viveash has more than 1 system so is he advising away formations also) ? Is it Adi Viveash and MR does not know whats going on so can't really change things during games, if it is then it shows MR is weak and allowing Adi Viveash to direct him.

MR has also said he knew the players he wants but had no say on who is signed out of them as there is a recruitment team doing that. Maybe all the signings are not his first choice but the recruitment team have gave him the players he asked for (4th choice etc). Also you could think that if x player comes in, i want x player in also to complement x player in the system, but the recruitment team could buy the ones that don't fit together as they are on the list but don't fit the new system.

Still think the players are good enough, it's the tactics that i am worried about and that goes back to the Adi Viveash thing. Does MR need to get rid of him as he won't train them as he wants them trained (system) or has Adi Viveash become the main man and MR is only doing what he wants and become a front man.

So my question is, is MR still in control or has Adi Viveash taken over behind the scenes?

Why did the u23s play 5 at the back yesterday then if they all play the same system?

I never hear Adi Viveash name mentioned during the game, but if he is putting this system in them he needs to be there to make the changes at H/T etc

It sounded to me like he rates himself above Robins (purely conjecture on my part to be fair). If we keep up the 'form' we have seen for a few more weeks I can see Robins being moved on and Adi coming in.

Or we win the next 30 games in a row and it's party time.

He did say it was about trust, and getting people to believe in the system.

Can't see him winning the manager over at this rate... but how long do you give a system to bed in, before you abandon it?

Last season, you kind of wondered if we dipped because Taylor wasn't about. Am sure Viveash is a cracking coach and all that, but am never at all convinced with trying to get lower league players to do the same things higher league players do. It seems to be expecting too much.

So who is running the show?
The players don't look like they know what system they are playing, MR dosnt understand the system and we are now recruiting players who we all know arnt good enough, and there are rumours of conflict within the camp!
Wtf is going on?

I can see the logic in trying to bring in better players to improve the squad but I don't understand why we've taken a system that has given us our only bit of success for decades and abandoned it overnight.

The players don't seem convinced by it, the manager doesn't seem convinced by it and nobody seems to be quite sure how it should work.

Appreciate we didn't storm the league last season but we had something to build on. Sure its early in the season but at the moment all the indications are we've gone backwards.

Exactly, that is what i'm questioning. After Adi Viveash pod cast no one seems to know what is going on, who is in charge.

I think he is after the job and screwing MR over, that's why i said i think he is weak.

L1 might be too much for him. Hence why Pompey released him when they got promoted. I think Kelly and Agogo might be better suited for L1.
Playing Saturday and Tuesday is prob too much for a 37 yr old midfielder he prob needed a rest tonight

I picked up on that, seemed weak also. Surely when Kelly is fit he don't pick himself.
For me Ogogo and Kelly when all fit with Doyle coming on when we have to change things. He can be a leader from training and the bench.

Which becomes an issue where we need to alternate every other game with Doyle and Andreu and change the system for them.

Trouble behind the scenes? Doubt it but a question has to be asked why are we playing the system we had at the start of last season when we were lucky to get 2 shots on target as opposed how we finished the season when teams simply couldn’t live with us admittedly except Yeovil and Lincoln

Just listened to the podcast with Viveash now and I think people are reading into it too much. He seems to quite clearly be saying the manager picks the formation and saying sometimes they play formations he is more comfortable with than the manager as he has used them elsewhere.

Interesting that he says it took until the end of the season for his work to really take effect as lower league players can’t change and adapt as quickly as top played at Chelsea. Maybe that’s why the system seems to have fallen apart now after several new players came in.

Not having that! That's far too far lacking in conspiracy for my liking.

We need conflict and them not speaking and we need them slamming office doors and the silent treatment and them giving each other the evil eye in training.

It's much more thrilling!

was right behind the dugout at Wimbledon and it all seemed very cordial between the 2.

IMO, given we started last season with this formation before AV was here I'd say it's MR's decision. After JJ and TA got injured last year he changed it, with them returning to fitness (or close to it) he's reverting to it, despite how we improved without it.

It does seem like he doesn't understand the limitations of it and what it takes away from us offensively. Large gaps between the midfield and strikers due to DCM's playing deep, lack of support up front meaning opposition pick up the 2nd ball and put us back into defence. Creative midfielders like Kelly and Bayliss too deep to affect the game. Strikers on the wings. I only hope he does like last year and sacks it off before too long but at the mo it seems like he's steadfast in it just to prove everyone wrong. I might be wrong but it seems like the players aren't agreeing with him and the squad is starting to lose faith.

As for transfers, MR did hint a few times that the U23 signings like Williams, Walters and Bosma were recruitment team decisions rather than his, though I'd want the first team manager involved in every transfer. As for first team transfers, you would really hope he gives the recruitment team a list and they work down it, with MR getting finally say on if the transfer goes ahead depending on the amount of transfer/wage budget it will take up. No idea if that's the case though.
