SISU/ARVO aren't the club remember so that can't be true.
Surely every football club would do this if they knew they could take any points penalty when already effectively relegated?Cannot think of any football club who would do this Nick
Thanks for that JSN so atleast I heard something and not made it up as that pleb Esoterica was intermating.I'm guessing at the expert but I assume that it was Kieran MaGuire who is a qualified accountant and specialises in football finance while being a lecturer at the University of Liverpool. He often appears on radio shows to give expert insight.
A quick look at his twitter shows that he was analysing the accounts, so it probably was him on the CWR or Talksport radio interview as the expert.
Unfortunately he can only look at the accounts from a facts and figures on paper perspective so does not have the added value which OSB58 provides by interpreting these figures with a better knowledge of the club and historical changes.
CWR should engage directly with OSB58 to have a better explanation of the accounts and local understanding.
Hi Buzz I was being sarcastic about Leicester mateSurely every football club would do this if they knew they could take any points penalty when already effectively relegated?
Sorry, hadn't picked up on that.Hi Buzz I was being sarcastic about Leicester mate

It was a guy called Professor Ellis Cashmore a professor of sociology (just written book linked to football) He mentioned gossip amongst hard core fans and a radio interview he heard that referred to administration. Didn't appear to have any greater insight in to the finances than the rest of us, and I mean no disrespect to him by that at all. As soon as administration was mentioned CWR were distancing and back tracking themselves from the comments. Basically just an interview on gossip about gossip
What time was it on ?Exactly how I heard it as well. They had him on before when Slade was appointed. Pointless interview
I thought if you were basically down anyway they just delayed the penalty to next season. Anyone confirm?
this could be the final nail in our coffin.
Sorry I'm confused about this. What about our current financial situation would point towards administration? All of the money we owe is to SISU in the form of a loan which they are not calling in at the minute. Why would SISU want us in administration? Surely that would effect this loan arrangement? Doesnt make any sense to me.Listening to radio today I think it was CWR not sure, they had some football expert on proffesor or something being interviewed about the state ccfc was in. anybody else hear it ? He went on a bit as ""experts" can do but seemed adamant that administration will happen and we would get a TWENTY point deduction. Said we should do it now as relegation seems inevitable but if left until next season then we face the non league. I know these so called experts aren't always correct and I don't know the rules as to how it should happen or who puts us in or why but it does seem when is crucial.
Worrying times !!
What time was it on ?

It was the right decision to move but it was a huge risk that depended on us staying in the PL.Don't need to be an expert to realise leaving HR was the single biggest fuck up in over 130 years of our history.
IMHO they are treading water at the moment and pacifying their investors with the interest payments.Sorry I'm confused about this. Can't understand how interest payments of £2.5M seems okay but rental payment of £1.4M was a significant problem.
Jesus!

Your struggling as well ?
That is because they are not paying the interest - how many times do you need to be told?
Unlike WASPS who took investors money then parked enough of it to pay interest for 2 years
So the investors effectively paid them selves back
You will need to explain? No, you are quite clearly.
It does not matter that they are not paying it.
They are accruing it and just increasing the overall debt of the club.
The effect of this is that SISU are more and more unlikely to release the club.

You will need to explain?
.... and if you say they are not paying it you have missed the point entirely ............ again.

Erm.
You have said they are paying it, I haven't missed the point.
Accruing means they will expect it at some point.
Otherwise why not just take it off the books?
It's a paper exercise and in the investors portfolio it will show as a positive.
How they pacify them I have no idea. Perhaps they expect a lot from JR2.
It just means that increasingly SISU cannot release us.

There is no doubt that if we had stayed in the PL to this day the nightmare would never have happened.
Once we got relegated it started a sequence of events that will more than likely result in our liquidation.
I think the main driver was capacity.Well we'll have to agree to disagree. There was no need to move from HR. Only BR had the appetite for it.
I think the main driver was capacity.
I don't think it was capacity at the time
