Are we going to be treating Middlesbrough like a league match or a friendly? Would be good to know before I turn up
Sounds like he's wanting a reaction and seeing who in the newbies will step up . Good management in my opinionI don’t particularly agree with much of his comments, the opposition really threatened very little for most of the game up to the goal. Midfield was doing fine in breaking through the lines, the back 3 looked solid.
As on Sunday however, terrible finishing was the main problem. Though Eccles allowing his man all the time and space to pick out top bins was kind.
He ? And why wouldn’t someone be appreciated if they are successful ? Pretty class ?I think he’ll work his bollocks off too and be pretty class. I’m not convinced he’ll be appreciated.
Wasn't expecting that. Very different view to the fans that went on this one from him.Uncharacteristic of MR to be that harsh.
1-2We’ve not even had a home game yet, can see us smashing boro then everyone will be saying automatics lol
He = Wright. He ? And why wouldn’t someone be appreciated if they are successful ? Pretty class ?
Maybe Matt can have a word and teach him his chilled, stoic ways.Wasn't expecting that. Very different view to the fans that went on this one from him.
Sounds likes he's not happy with midfield at all.
Someone should tell him it's only the league cup and to not have a meltdown
He is maybe trying to take the heat off the strikers who in my view were the only real underperformers.Wasn't expecting that. Very different view to the fans that went on this one from him.

Forgot that set pieces and pens don't count as goals.180 mins, 1 set piece goal and one penalty scored and conceded 4 from open play.

‘With hindsight, I now regret letting Haji introduce his teammates to Madden’What he wanted to say:
"Well Clive the problem is we've spent 11 million quid on 2 strikers who can't finish. Thankfully Fabio is due back soon for some much needed competition"
Can anyone who watched the 90 mins give a player ratings? Keen to hear how the other new signings played.
Not a great idea. If I was one of the midfielders I'd be a bit pissed if he was laying the blame on me to take the heat off two expensive signings. He is maybe trying to take the heat off the strikers who in my view were the only real underperformers.
Never said that didn't. But over 2 games we have had 48 shots, Vs 29 against, conceded 4 and not scored from open play yet, but managed to concede 4 from open play. It's not great is it.Forgot that set pieces and pens don't count as goals.
Cheers Stu
What formation do you suspect we will use? 3421?I do get the feeling we won't be playing with an AM and two strikers for much longer
What he’s said to the press and what he’ll have said to the players may well be different. Not a great idea. If I was one of the midfielders I'd be a bit pissed if he was laying the blame on me to take the heat off two expensive signings.
probably because he expects better?Robins thinks we were lucky to be one up??
If we weren't creating the chances I'd be more worried. We'll be ok mate.Never said that didn't. But over 2 games we have had 48 shots, Vs 29 against, conceded 4 and not scored from open play yet, but managed to concede 4 from open play. It's not great is it.

If we were missing sitters we were unlucky to just be one up?probably because he expects better?
Just to clarify - I’m not actually saying robins should be sacked. I’m asking are we allowed a 10 game winless streak again? Im guessing he expects top 6 - and whilst we did it last season - 5th with that points total is an anomaly.
so far - we seem to bogged down with similar on pitch issues we had in the first 10 last season - but we obviously had the excuses I’ve listed above to bat it off
Wouldn’t mind seeing us try a 433, with Wright and Sakamoto (and eventually O’Hare) on either flank. What formation do you suspect we will use? 3421?
Because he expects us to start scoring sitters. If we were missing sitters we were unlucky to just be one up?
They really ought to have scored in the opening minute, but then offered nothing substantial until the last 15 minutes. We however should have scored about 4 or 5 before then.If we were missing sitters we were unlucky to just be one up?
Given our lack of CBs not the worst idea at all.Wouldn’t mind seeing us try a 433, with Wright and Sakamoto (and eventually O’Hare) on either flank.
People will groan at the comparison but something similar to how England have been lining up recently…
I'm sure we will. But our good runs last season were built on being solid, we've gifted 5 clearcut chances in 2 games, we'd rarely concede that many over 7-8 games last a season when Ben Wilson when was picking up those clean sheets. If we weren't creating the chances I'd be more worried. We'll be ok mate.
Even so he's publicly throwing the midfield under the bus so two expensive players save face. What he’s said to the press and what he’ll have said to the players may well be different.
