It's slanderous, really is. No doubt the media will be too weak to pick up on the foolishness of it.
Well fergie is over reacting, probably out of frustration, however Williams clearly does it on purpose and it's ridiculous to think otherwise. He also hits it extremely hard and rvp is about a yard away, which theoretically could break his neck..obviously very unlikely but it could easily have knocked him out, which then could have lead to other complications.
The fact that so many of us have been hit point blank in the face with a ball before is irrelevant, as they are accidental, this was deliberate and I do think Williams should be banned.
Obvious over-reaction from fergie but its pretty obvious williams did it on purpose.
Did anybody see MOTD2? Dublin said he would have kicked a ball at shearers head because he was a nuisance to play against and the presenter said "you would have probably missed" haha
Are you joking? I think the fact 90% of utd fans are ridiculing him over this speaks volumes!
I loved the way he got tripped when he got back up from the killer ball!!

Well I've actually said Fergie is over reacting and I believe he only said what he said to ensure it created a media storm, however this shouldn't detract from what was a dangerous incident and Williams should definitely be banned. Alan Smith broke his leg when blocking a shot from Riise, if you think it isn't physiologically possible then you're wrong because it is.
I honestly don't see much difference between kicking someone in the head and kicking a ball at someone's head from point blank range, as long as it is done deliberately. Additionally when you consider the power a premier league footballer can generate, it is even more dangerous. Excuse me for posting my opinion on a forum though kg82, you've posted over 3000 times in fairness so your opinion is evidently worth more than mine
I think it's the fact he says he's "lucky to be alive" as if he had been shot or something. He would have had to have been extremely unlucky to have died in the same sense that every time a player gets tackled they could potentially fall a certain way and die. Massively OTT statement from Fergie.
Did I say that? Don't get so defensive. Surely, as you obviously know its a forum, you know its a place for debate as well.
EDIT: I'd also add, having been kicked in the head and had a ball kicked at my head, that there is a big difference. For a start, the ball didn't break my nose and knock me out.
If this had happened to a city player you lot would have been up in arms. It was an aggressive, idiotic act and had it been the other way around all hell would have broken loose
Some of us are a bit more objective than that. There's no question it was stupid. There's no question it would've hurt a little. To state it could've killed him = idiotic.
Had the incident have been the other way around the people could have had their racism story of the week
Apparently hes at it again today because of the own goal that United have conceded. Last touch off Evans although Cisse stood in an offside position but as he didnt touch the ball, goal was awarded. Think this is in line with the rules is it not?
