All day on BBC cov they have been playing an advert where Ann Lucas says "all i want for christmas is for ccfc to be back playing at the Ricoh".

Anybody heard it? Her door is open all day for sisu, so what's been going on for the last 3 weeks? Has sisu been discussing a return or not?

So Seppala fisher? What are you doing? Are you in discussions to come back or not? Where's the transparency with us the fans?

But what is she (Ann Lucus) willing to do to achieve that statement, the Council hold all the cards. Sisu have said quite clearly that they won't enter a rental agreement again so that leaves one option the council need to sell the Freehold.

What I would like to see happen is the council agree to sell 50% of the Freehold and let Sisu run the whole arena after buying the Higgs share and ACL's share. If after a set number of years Sisu run the club in a professional manner then the council sell the other 50% of the freehold. I dont know how this would work but its an idea.

something has got to happen and quickly, none of it makes sense anymore.....sisu could come back next week if they wanted to and then discuss the long term of ownership?

At least it showed she's a woman of principle. I doubt Joy has any principles, her principle aim is to rip off Coventry & it's people

That's irrelevant. I slated her and thought she was wrong on the Marlon King issue and I stand by that. Doesn't mean I can't agree with her on other things.

If Ann Lucas wants CCFC back at the Ricoh then Ann should make clear to Sisu two things:

Firstly - Whether the Freehold of the Arena is for sale?

Secondly - At what price is the Arena Freehold for sale?

If Sisu then choose not to negotiate for a Rental Agreement (which they have already stated their not interested in) or don't feel that the value of the Arena is a fair amount and choose not to do business then by all means build a new ground or enquire about an independant valuation of the Arena Freehold.

How much do you think that would cost £30m for half the freehold £10 -20m for ACL, that's not the way SISU operate paying market value. Everything has its priice, SISU's price will always be too low. SISU will keep up the pressure by keeping the club away from Coventry despite financial suicide hoping ACL / CCC concede to their demands, it won't happen, a new stadium won't happen AFC my friends is the only solution.

Could the council split the complex into 2 and let the football club have the football stadium part. That way they can still generate income streams via advertising and f&b and so on. Agree rent either way for shared space. Could this be achieved???

In the long-term the Club or it's Owners must own and run the stadium with access to ALL revenue streams, renting is not an option!

Trouble is with any agreement, what did SISU base their valuation on. ACL are close to securing a major snooker tournament starting next year and are continuing to strengthen their portfolio business wise. If, as was mooted around previously by Lucas they start looking for other revenue streams and possibly another anchor tenant in the form of a rugby club, how would SISU'S position look then if the JR is found in favour of the council. SISU will have backed them selves right in to a corner and the only way out would to eat humble pie, sell at a loss or they could conceivably still liquidate the club.

fair enough but why would would it be obvious that they would want the lot. its not like they are likely to be planning all the extra facilities for their new stadium. first step should be the football part then if they can prove themselves going forward then negotiate for the rest. it shouldnt just be all or nothing imo

I'd be interested to know what land would be included with the purchase of the freehold.

if sh1tsu want to buy its customary to put an offer in, that would be the starting card. the ball is quite clearly in sh1tsu's court (if you pardon the pun).

until then they will carry on playing games

Just reading these comments breaks my heart. I don't think enough people actually realise that we have been taken out of our city due to greed, distrust and evilness - all driven by money. What a sorry state and it breaks my heart every day. As for my opinion on this issue then there is only 1 person who can make this happen. NOT 2. People think the council can but they can merely offer stupid rent free low rent deals or a fair price for the stadia. SISU can actually control where Coventry play. They had a reduction of 90% in the rent remember everyone and that would of saved them over 1 million a year and this still wasn't good enough even if this was a short term arrangement. Breaks my heart. SISU CONTROL OUR FATE NOT THE COUNCIL.

Keep hearing renting is not an option .......... so why is it not an option ?

ACL effectively rent the place (they paid rent up front as a premium) and they own ALL the income from the site. I would suspect they would be more than happy to extend the lease to 99 or more years and never own the freehold.

What that means is CCFC would have to control ACL to get control of ALL the income streams, with a long lease you get to control site development too

So why wouldnt that work for CCFC also ? why must they own the freehold?

As we are not out of admin yet sisu could be playing at the rioch for free

A great comment backing up my 150k pa offer that was put on the table as a fact. It makes no sense to reject it no matter what way you look at it or SISU. They are paying the same to Northampton I believe so this again is hard to understand.

the club need to own the leasehold for access to all revenue streams, all the club need to own is ACL. joy wants the freehold, this is for the benefit of her investors, you remember them don't you RFC, they are the only people she cares about aside from her family (her words, not mine).

so don't be fooled into thinking the club needs the freehold, it don't. the same as the club don't need to be playing in Northampton, they have short term more financially viable options at the ricoh, but SISU choose not to take them because it doesn't suit their long term needs of their investors. encase you haven't worked it out yet, they don't give a fuck about you and your football club, its all about their investors. but you keep supporting them by going to sixfields.

don't forget no-one yet knows what the arrangement for the club will be should joy get her hands on the freehold. it could be out the frying pan and into the fire, a fire which is being fed by joy and her investors. you really need to see the bigger picture.

Exactly, the fact this whole process is not needed just makes it all worse. Whats wrong with a short term rent deal such as the one with Northampton build up trust again and maybe purchase the ricoh. As Another poster stated why must SISU get the freehold? Beer and pies cant be that essential

Originally all SISU were interested in was getting the Higgs 50% of the ACL (and that was still the case upto about 18 months ago). That was enough for them.
Talks collapsed for whatever reason - depending on which version you want to believe. Then we got into the "he said, she said" nonsense and Seppala says that was when she started to get involved and re-evaluate SISU's investment - then it went to the freehold or nothing.
There has to be a compromise which enables both sides to save face - which almost seems more important to them than the future of the football club or the fans.
If the Ricoh's for sale name a price. If you can't afford the price then negotiate something on the leasehold.

People keep referring to CCC offering CCFC a rent or that CCC refuse to comment on rent deals that have been offered......

CCC cant offer a rent because ACL own the rights to do that and for similar reasons CCC cant comment on rent deals that may or may not have been offered......

just to add to that, at the beginning of the year it was all about F & B and car parking, now its all about the freehold that the club doesn't need (just to be clear, WE NEED THE LEASEHOLD FOR REVENUE ACCESS & NOTHING MORE).

presumably the F & B line was about winning hearts and minds before holding the club to ransom in Northampton and revealing what they wanted all along.
