Some posters hoped that portsmouth going into Admin would help our league situation, but it looks like they're close to wrapping up a takeover & avoiding a points deduction.
It's a bit worrying when there's a quote saying of the potential new owners finances "we're fairly satisfied they have the funds to take the club forward". If you're a pompey supporter I'm absolutely certain you're crapping yourself at that statement.
Think we need to wait and see. Wouldnt wish a points deduction on another team but Pompey still has issues
- the article implies they are struggling to find the money to pay wages
- the takeover is not done as yet
- the league have not decided whether (a) the new proposed owners are fit & proper (ha bloody ha - how would they know !) and (b) if a points deduction is appropriate (the administrator would put a positive spin on it wouldnt he)
We should not rely on the misfortune of others to stay up in any case. But before we go over board in our sympathy for pompey fans spare a moment to think about the creditors shafted by the club due to persistent mis management and paying players they cannot afford but who provide enough depth and quality to stay up
