Any Chance of our 10 points back? (1 Viewer)

I have tried to convince myself as I am a diehard cov fan like us all that maybe after yesterdays events we may get our 10 points back. Surely there is half a chance?

No admin or liquidation has been settled yet so why cant a new CVA be drawn up and accepted by ACL and we prevent liquidation officially and therefore no need for point deduction. I don't even know why Sisu wouldn't do this as they seem most annoyed by the 10 point penalty other than anything else. So basically surely everyone wins in this new admission by the football league. Maybe its guilt from them or maybe its legal but it certainly changes it all. The ACL spokesman said "Fortunately its not too late" It isn't, he is right. Things sure can change in football and me like everyone else has had no good seasons in the last 13 years. Think, points given back seal a promotion and if it all doesn't happen then at least its a step in the right direction. Smaller fish (no pun intended) first getting the points back then Cov back in Cov.

I know the whole situation is rubbish and Coventry playing in Northampton is beyond anything in this life but one step at a time and our 10 points back and with todays result and the encouraging start and more players surely coming in once the "bomb squad" (4 left) as this will free up a lot of wages to bring in another 2 quality players and this could seal a top 6 finish. Why not?

To conclude is this 10 point deduction possible to reverse or is it just wishful thinking and never going to happen?

We won't need them we're going to win the league by 3 points, get down to the bookies and put you life savings on it (I never gave you the tip though) :D

I've been wondering the same. With the football leagues recent revelations discrediting the whole admin process perhaps a reversal of forutnes along with the points being reinstated isnt out of the question? Would it take an appeal?

Lets see what you say in 4 or 5 weeks we have been here before many times

start the season on -10
playing 34 miles away from Coventry
have a squad of about 16 players
1,000 "home" fans at our last game
3 transfer embargos in 3 years
10 point deduction last season

not sure we have been here before to be honest

I know im probably on a high after last 2 amazing results but why not? That's what football is all about and as a cov fan not too many great periods of late. ACL stated they have appealed and would ask for a revised CVA as a bare minimum. This I am convinced they will accept as its still money probably around £600,000k and why ask for it?

Love the optimism but we are only 3 games in. Lets see where we are at the end of the season and see if its gonna make a difference.

We prob should of been punished years ago when contracts were shifted so were just being punished later. Because it happened before sisu were here prob dosn't change the fact with the FL.

Wouldn't we get a 10 point penalty anyway for exiting administration in a different season like Portsmouth did last season?

I'm not sure, the football league statement at the time said they were deducted 10 points when exiting administration
'Due to the club's Company Voluntary Arrangement not being fully compliant with the Football League's insolvency policy'

This is the point though.

Would the club of been fully compliant with the Football League's insolvency policy' earlier, if the FL never made the error?

The 10 point deduction has yet to be challenged which is very strange.

Some people get very carried away. We've just beaten Carlisle who are shipping goals for fun. It's nothing to get excited about.

An appeal could lead to more points being lost potentially. -10 isn't that bad, we're now 5 points from safety. -25 points on the otherhand would be devastating. We all have this dream scenario in our heads, we all hope deep down that the FL will reverse it, someone perhaps in parliment calls a review of the ownership, SISU are announced as not fit and proper, and remove the golden share to ACL who sell to Ph4 who buys the Ricoh as well uniting club and stadium together in Coventry.

These dreams are somewhere as likely as how we dream about winning the lottery. We're either stuck with SISU slowly bleeding us to death or the quick execution of the club via a liqidation and being kicked out of the league. A couple of wins has lifted the mood, but the thunder clouds overhead have gone NOWHERE.

There's a lot more to come yet and we are at the start of the season so there's 9 months to get these points back. The admission from Greg Clark imo has opened a can of worms and a number of things could happen. Those bidding for the club at the administration process for example should be able to do so from a level playing field, was it level ? that's one, so could they object to the courts, then there's the creditors who haven't/won't sign this CVA apart from ACL there's HMRC, don't rule them out. Then there are the football side of things, an appeal could go to the FA, who appeals though i'm not sure, at the moment it should be Otium but would they ? The fact ccfc ltd haven't been liquidated yet, is that significant ?

That's if from any new administration they were deemed appropriate to take the business forward, and if they didn't sign any cva we would be in the same position as now, think I would take a chance on -10 points with new owners to be honest. We are only 10 points from the top of league !!

Question: Do we want the CVA signed or a re-run for bids?

If SISU lose their preferential bid status then the GS goes straight back to the Football League. :claping hands:

The Football League have set the precedence in this. They will follow exactly what the administrator says. Whoever is the preferred bidder has the golden share, given that they pass the fit and proper test. I am sure a lot of people would welcome a preferred bidder who will immediately return the club to Coventry. SISU could stop the CVA going through, but they have lost control of the club.
