Whats the deal with Tackling? I really fancy getting involved but am worried regarding going over on my Dodgy ankle
Yes I play this all the time but my teammates call me lazy?!
Even with my dodgy ankle I reckon I’d be quicker then himAsk Yakubu for advice
Tackling, ahem, depends if you have a referee and how they apply the laws. Ideally there should be no contact at all. You are only allowed to front nick the ball. The referee should caution anyone endangering the safety of other players which includes any kind of reckless play. That includes blasting a shot straight into opponents. It rarely happens in reality and many older players start and have to stop because other players are too rough. I have personally witnessed several broken bones, torn ligaments, knee and ankle sprains and a dislocated shoulder. Most were avoidable if people had understood what they were meant to be doing. Many should be playing veterans or a gentler form of 5 a side but their competitive nature gets the better of them.Whats the deal with Tackling? Well, either join a specific age group, say over 50s, over 60s etc or (not being funny) there are groups for people with "impairments" - recovering from long term injuries, Parkinson's, dementia etc.And with that reply I'll hang up me boots , its been a great career
