I've got a problem with my fridge freezer and wondered if anybody on here could help out, in the interest of not wanting to have to call somebody out, for obvious reasons.
The drain/gulley at the back is not draining properly so I'm getting a build up of water at the bottom. I have cleaned out the hole with the cleaner tool thingy, and since that didn't work, I've cleaned it out with some rolled up cloth that I could shove further down. It doesn't seem to be coming back with any dirt on it, yet, it still isn't draining.
Bear in mind that it's about ten years old now. What could the problem be? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

We had exactly the same problem with our Bosch fridge freezer a few years ago. We thought it was blocked in the same way as you say and tried to clean it out but it made no difference and were reduced to mopping out the bottom every week .
Eventually we spoke to a man who specialises in reconditioning electricals, particularly fridges and washing machines. He said it was something like a condenser unit at the back of the fridge which needed replacing for about £100. We got rid as we'd had it for 10 years and it wasn't cost effective.
Tbh if it's old you'll save the cost in energy efficiency by buying a new one not to mention the cost saved repairing and something else could still go wrong.

Do you have a dog? mine done the same and i realised that although it was clean i could see stray dog hair in the back of the fridge. I poured sink pipe cleaner in to it a couple of times and it started working again.
