So we have to starve them out, it seems like the only thing they understand is money (cause it sure as sh1t ain't football) and maybe an acute shortage of that will make them rethink their plans?
I've been sucked in again, haven't I? I always say I won't get involved but when I read anything like "good old ACL, good old CCC" then I have to reply. I hate them all me, on all sides. I'd love to see the back of SISU, the back of Fisher, the back of ACL, the back of PWKH, the back of Lucas and the back of CCC.
I want to watch my team in Coventry, that's all I care about.
Not sure that's right.
Comes across to me that they just don't want these owners owning the ground.
Heard the anne lucas interview...sounded she was a bit out of her depth to me....it's obvious that it's all about the ricoh....sisu/otium wanted it acl/ccc wont sell it to them.as much as I want sisu out what can they do....if we want to have a succesful club we have to own our ground. The ricoh will never be sold to anyone....The only way we'll see ccfc back at the ricoh with sisu/otium in charge is if acl back down....can't see that happening anytime soon.....
It's not in the interest of the football club though!!
If all they care about is money then they are as thick as pig shit for investing in a football club.
The thing that inherently worries me at the moment is for a company so interested in the lure of cold hard cash, they dont seem to be going anywhere quick even though they have been leeching it at the club for years. All these losses and they still remain, and still seem to have a bottomless pit of money to throw it around on stupid crass pathetic legal cases.
They may be scum but at present they are still scum with money. I just hope its nearly gone.
why is it in the interest of the city to retain ownership? it's not like it's making a huge profit to fund additional services / cut council tax bills.
surely anyone who owned it would want it to be successful so it's not like, assuming they are responsible owners unlike SISU, it will suddenly be shut down or events will stop. the in the interest of the city line always seems a bit odd to me and has never really been explained.
I actually now think that the Ricoh was the ultimate goal, the club is now just a means to an end. Had it been successful then great that would have been sold for a profit but the Stadium was a far juicier target. As I said in another thread I can see the Higgs charity becoming a target of the legal attacks as they're the only ones who SISU haven't targeted as part owners/leaseholders.
I don't trust her, Coventry City Council, ACL anymore than I trust SISU! They ALL 'spin' and IMHO, are economical with the truth.
Remember it was ACL who first applied to put CCFC into administration last November and ACL who refused to sign the CVA!
How can you go from demanding a totally unrealistic rent (£1:28 million) 8 months ago to suddenly offering sustainable figures like £150,000 in Division 1?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, ACL & CCC NEED THE FOOTBALL CLUB MORE than CCFC need them IMHO.
I'm not so sure Otis, I don't think the council will be willing to sell to any owners unless it's a ridiculous amount. She said the whole project cost 240 mil, if they're wanting that sort of money, we're screwed. Not sure that's right.

How dare CCC build a brand new stadium for CCFC after it became clear the club wasn't going to achieve that on their own.....!!
How dare CCC not insist on ensuring a sliding scale based on CCFC's league position, instead of giving them a choice of that or a fixed rate....!!
How dare CCC not charge a deposit or bond, especially since CCFC had recently sold Highfield Road for £5m+ and their own interests in the new stadium for £13m.
How dare CCC only charge £1.2m p.a. for a brand new stadium when CCFC was previously paying £1.0m to rent their own run-down wreck in need of radical improvement.
Do you want me to continue...?

Don't let the facts get in the way of a pathetic argument eh?
1. ACL didn't apply to put the club in administration in November. It was in March, but only after Fisher publicly stated that they were seriously considering putting the club into receivership owing more than £1m in rent that they had unlawfully withheld. So ACL should have simply ignored that and crossed their fingers should they?
2. The club simply decided to illegally withhold rent under the lease agreement it had freely signed. ACL then offered to reduce the rent by £800k and the club agreed to accept the offer - and then reneged on the agreement.
3. ACL refused to sign the CVA, yes and thank god they did because the truth can now be revealed!
Your question should have been "How can a club go from being 4th in the championship with average crowds of nearly 20k, sell or not retain all it's promising players, go through countless managers and directors, get relegated, alienate 90% of its fans, finish up playing 35 miles away in a third rate stadium with crowds of less 2k, and devastate the players wages budget under the FFP that will virtually guarantee us relegation? "
Oh, and then they waste a small fortune on trying to sue the council and have to pay their legal fees too - could have spent that on the team but then that's the last of their priorities I would suggest?
I think ACL, CCC, the fans, the media, and everyone else have lost patience with SISU and who could blame them - apart from you perhaps!
More pressure needs to be put on SISU at this point, they are now deep in the mire & can never never in my opinion be trusted .
Get rid of them and the club can return to being a normal football club & I'm confident an equitable stadium deal can be worked out with new owners in good faith.

Weird they forced us into admin as they 'thought' SISU would liquidate us an then ACL end up doing it anyway! What a masterstroke. Not.
It's a funny old game ain't it?

Maybe you should have supported a club that could afford to build and complete a stadium or buy it from those that stepped in to do just that.
You really are a twat.
I heard some of it and the sofa analogy was worse than the "if I didn't pay the rent of my house" rubbish we get on here. She talked a lot without saying much if you know what I mean.
Great arguement, you really are a complete balloonYou really are a twat.
I do, what about if you were stoke or swansea's council. How dare you explain the disgusting actions of our council that have effectively ruined this club coated to them? Swansea haven't even increased the rent now they are in the premier league. So why if you really only care about the club do you seem to make such an analogy.
Look further at other clubs who sold their stadia to the council - Ipswich and forest
You tell me any council that has offered a worse deal to its football club. I suspect silence is golden.
Like most politicians, when pushed on something, sadly

When will they get it through their thick heads! The only way CCFC can move forwards is if they own or part own the stadium. It's talk like this that made Sisu decide to look to groundshare and talk of a new stadium in the first place.
I am hoping above hope that she just said what she said in terms of Sisu only and that they would gladly sell to different buyers.
Otherwise we're never going to get anywhere.
And as SISU don't seem to he going anywhere I guess we better get used to playing away from the city.
And ACL better try and think of doing something with that big green bit in the middle.
If there isn't a compromise then this football club is fucked.

Having heard Lucas give a very spluttering interview this morning in which she admitted without the loan ACL would be "in a right mess"'I agree with you we are in serious trouble.
