I've said it before I think the club should own a long lease (like the one ACL have only longer) on the Ricoh, the entire place if that means the club buying ACL and operating it as a wholly owned subsidiary then great. I just don't think that should be done whilst we're owned by SISU.

The whole sorry shower should hang their heads in shame at the way they have behaved, as should the board of CCFC at the time we had to go cap in hand to get the council to bail us out of a shit pit that the club created.

surely anyone who owned it would want it to be successful so it's not like, assuming they are responsible owners unlike SISU, it will suddenly be shut down or events will stop. the in the interest of the city line always seems a bit odd to me and has never really been explained.

More pressure needs to be put on SISU at this point, they are now deep in the mire & can never never in my opinion be trusted .

Get rid of them and the club can return to being a normal football club & I'm confident an equitable stadium deal can be worked out with new owners in good faith.

I actually now think that the Ricoh was the ultimate goal, the club is now just a means to an end. Had it been successful then great that would have been sold for a profit but the Stadium was a far juicier target. As I said in another thread I can see the Higgs charity becoming a target of the legal attacks as they're the only ones who SISU haven't targeted as part owners/leaseholders.

To stop some bunch like SISU exploiting it, a very long lease as PaxmanII said a while ago is fine for the club as it would be offered at a far lower annual rent.

You have got a point. The thing is even their money pit isnt limitless so lets hope it runs out before they start any nob headed legal attacks on anyone else.
I really cant see what they see the end game as, but whatever it is it will fail....as I seroiusly think they underestimate the season ahead.

Your question should have been "How can a club go from being 4th in the championship with average crowds of nearly 20k, sell or not retain all it's promising players, go through countless managers and directors, get relegated, alienate 90% of its fans, finish up playing 35 miles away in a third rate stadium with crowds of less 2k, and devastate the players wages budget under the FFP that will virtually guarantee us relegation? "

Oh, and then they waste a small fortune on trying to sue the council and have to pay their legal fees too - could have spent that on the team but then that's the last of their priorities I would suggest?

I think ACL, CCC, the fans, the media, and everyone else have lost patience with SISU and who could blame them - apart from you perhaps!

I'm not so sure Otis, I don't think the council will be willing to sell to any owners unless it's a ridiculous amount. She said the whole project cost 240 mil, if they're wanting that sort of money, we're screwed.

I do, what about if you were stoke or swansea's council. How dare you explain the disgusting actions of our council that have effectively ruined this club coated to them? Swansea haven't even increased the rent now they are in the premier league. So why if you really only care about the club do you seem to make such an analogy.

Look further at other clubs who sold their stadia to the council - Ipswich and forest

You tell me any council that has offered a worse deal to its football club. I suspect silence is golden.

IMHO pressure needs to be exerted on ALL sides. SISU to bring us back or sell up and get out and ACL to do whatever it takes to get the Club back in Coventry. That is the priority, nothing else matters.

First off, why do the club need to own the freehold in order to access the income streams?

The rent didn't seem to be an issue at all until we got relegated. And then when the rent was dropped it was about F & B, and now it's gone from there to owning the freehold.

It's quite clear now that all SISU want is to break ACL and get the Ricoh for next to nothing. I can't support that personally, and I struggle to see how anyone can. All about opinions I guess.

As if I or anyone on here would know the details any more than they know what % the rent is when compared to the whole budget....? But as we all know, the rent isn't the issue....!!

I take it you've supplied these examples to SISU so they can use the cases of Portman Road and especially the City Ground, the latter being of interest as an all new stadium for the 2018 world cup has been shelved. I'm glad you've made it clear that other clubs rent their grounds, but unlike CCFC (or SISU), haven't fallen out with their landlords. Both clubs seem to be firm championship sides with previous history, but I bet when they were looking at relegation from the first tier you could ask any fan and just like CCFC ones they'd tell you they belonged at the top, instead of the current position where they may just have a fleeting chance of being a yo-yo team with promotion followed by relegation. What would you give for hindsight in realising the Sky Blues could have been a strong Championship side, instead of wasting money trying to retain their place in the premiership...?

I am hoping above hope that she just said what she said in terms of Sisu only and that they would gladly sell to different buyers.

I think CCC & ACL realize that CCFC must own the Ricoh, I think that has become obvious even to them.

She's very contradictory. If the Ricoh can survive without the Club then why did CCC need to bail them out to the tune of £14M. It doesn't make sense. Posturing on both sides just frustrates fans all the more.
