The Coventry City football team ready to set off for Hillsborough in 1949 - Sure that's David Speedie at the front 6th on the right
Thought that myself .That looks like George Curtis directly below the buses first window.
I like the CVD 6Don't recognise any of the players but the coach looks like a Daimler CV. Yes folks, there are bus and coach spotters within our ranks.
I recall going to an away game in the late 80's i think . Charlton away but playing at Selhurst Park . bus broke down we had to get out and push it to get it going again . very similar to the bus in the picture .
The conductor sounds just the ticketon the buses
I am sure I can hear the conductor saying......"I hate you sisu"
At least you got there without having to push the damn thingI remember going on a day trip to Blackpool on one of these. We were in Blackpool for about 2 hours then back home lol. No M6 in those days.
Sadly , that will be a fact !"all aboard, destination league 2"
I know. Couldn't those football players just move aside so we can see the coach properly!Good choice, solid chassis and then the styling of the coach builder. Wish I had one tucked away in a barn. Also the many hundreds of individual coach operators around in those days.
