We all know it's hypocritical. That's the very nature of football. It's not right, but it happens. Comparing it to a 'normal' job is folly.

And I threw in a mcdonalds joke to amuse myself.

The McDonalds joke was used to good effect, certainly deserved against the angry man. Perhaps he is Clarke's agent?

It's all ok chap. But we've got a nice chance to slag a player off here and we should take it.

I don't like slagging off players unless all of the facts are known. And this is very rare unless it is through police records or jail terms. What I do know is that he has done well for us.

Good luck for the future Leon. Hope you get a decent contract. SISU have made money as well as he was a free signing.

Agree to be honest, and we still haven't heard a direct quote from Leon. All being said I hope he stays.

He's done what's he paid for, so no ill will from me. He's a journeyman so no surprise he's off. Hopefully Waggot can unearth someone else just as good.

Promotion to the Championship is said to be worth up to 5m.....and it looks like they will be in the playoffs at least at the end of the season. Not a bad signing for them at all.

I doubt Rotherham could pay Leon more money than what he is currently on so therefore he won't be going to Rotherham

However it could start the bidding war which is good for us if it helps us realise full value from wolves sheff utd etc.

Now who do SISU know with a facebook account who could engineer a bidding war??

Sounds like Celtic are upping their chances of getting Griffiths which may bring a better offer from Wolves ,i'm guessing the more they have to pay to get him ,the lower his wages will be ,he may yet stay.

I don't see why not, we were in trouble already when we signed leon and he has done very well with us putting his value up.

There is also the fact that being on the same money would be attractive to him assuming a signing on bonus, more chance of promotion, more job security for the next few years and playing in front of 7.5-10k rather than 2-3k at home.

does it matter where he goes? If we get the right fee then its ta ta.... thanks for the goals leon its been great. Some of the shit we have had over the years for fees and not scored any have taken far less stick.

As I understand, Wolves want £1m for Griffiths from Celtic and we want the full £1m from Wolves for Clarke.

I don't believe Rotherham can match £1m.

Speculation is that Celtic only offered £250K. for Griffiths ,and that the deal Is progressing so they must have or will be upping It ,Jacket has remarked that they may wait till the window closes and get a loan In . Given that players with similar records have gone for less In the past suggests to me that If Wolves have offered as much as £500K. that Is probably their ceiling .Leon may yet stay put.

whats the chances of clarke being loaned to wolves after the window closes!! We do need to be realistic here though, we need a striker and i bet we cannot bring one in until Clarke is gone so i dont think we can push our luck too much as Wolves may go elsewhere.

Our owners are SISU. Juke went on loan after the window closed. Anything is possible with them in charge.

How did it help us when they loaned Juke out? He was the only player we had that was scoring goals. And he never got replaced either.

No he didn't.

Jutkiewicz joined Middlesbrough in an emergency loan deal on 14 January 2012.[20] The loan was instigated as a means to allow Jutkiewicz to play in that day's game against Burnley because a permanent transfer had not been completed in time.[21] Following the game against Burnley, the club confirmed the permanent transfer of Jutkiewicz for a fee in the region of £1.3m.[22]

He might be better on a pay per fight deal if he crosses Steve Evans. Not known to be very tolerant

If Rotherham is his next destination on his personal crusade of playing for all football league clubs, the 'one greedy bastard' chant will be out in full force next time we meet him (when he will undoubtedly score).

I seen to recall after the 1st game of the season the article in the Mail that stated we were trying to offload Murphy, Baker and Clarke that Leon was in the region of 8k/wk. I doubt Scrotium would commit to paying wages that high in league 1. I'd hazards a guess at £4k maximum.

I wonder if he will miraculously recover from his 'injury' to pass his medical. Wanker!

Are you against all players leaving, or those that end up getting paid more, or those that end up going from club to club?

Sadly true Tourch, I fear some non league clubs could make a case of being bigger than us at the moment?

The one burning light at the moment is the fans. The trouble is SISU can't see the potential, they are too busy trying find a way of getting a return on their investment and choking on their pride.

A short term rental deal and three players of quality in could have seen us knocking on the door of the Championship.

It really is that simple - as you say. A little bit of support from the owners (who vowed to fund things while they hold the club hostage in ShitFields), and we could be promoted via the playoffs. It is there for the taking.

Ideally they'd agree a rental deal to come back to the Ricoh too; (maybe they won't as it'll harm their case in the Judicial Review).

If they want a Championship club to sell on then this is a big opportunity for promotion - not doing so will be another thing to add to their list of regrets.

Apparently Clarke was at the Molineux on Saturday. Then Dicko scored twice on return for the club playing in the sole striker role, so maybe Wolves will have changed their mind about Clarke now last bid turned down.

If the rumours of him being on 8k are to be believed then I would guess that would be at least twice the wage of the highest paid Rotherham player

I think Clarke goes the last day of the transfer window, because that's the way this game is played.

He wants to go and whatever our owners say, we need the money. And the most significant thing in all this is that the player doesn't want to stay.

So now it's just about extracting the most possible. We'll run the bluff that we're not selling until the point that we have to sell. In fairness, I think that would happen regardless of our current owners, imho.

Also means they won't have time to buy any one so will resort to a loan deal.
