In the spirit of reconciliation, it would be helpful to meet nu-Grendel halfway though
Just spent 10 minutes googling Justice Higgenbottom, aka Sir Gary Hickenbottom.
Very interesting and he has presided over a lot of varied cases.
What really struck me was he was part of three judges in the court of appeal regarding Gary Dobson's appeal on his conviction for murder of Stephen Lawrence. The whole Stephen Lawrence affair was a VERY MAJOR case for all sorts of reasons and in particular with regard to the "police and establishment"
With that in mind , it's clear as Justice Higgenbottom is no minor judge!
I don't believe the judiciary will appreciate Tim Fishers comments about the judge being wrong and not knowing the law and three senior judges will overturn Justice Higgenbottom.
SISU need to drop the appeal. I'm not a law person but experience indicates IMHO that SISU are unlikely to be successful.
Well it is true.
The quote's in that article, hence I linked it!
Genuine question. And I mean this with love.
How have you made an entire post, including editing for a typo and stating that you spent 10 minutes Googling him, spelling his surname two different ways depending on whether he was a Judge (Higgenbottom) or just Sir Gary (Hickenbottom) and never how he actually spells it (Hickinbottom)?
But yes, you're right, he's a "senior judge". Now where's my Justice Kickinbottom gif?
Not really true is it.
Remember what the so called road map was about? Pay off Higgs and get rid of ACL. It would have been a goo start.
So how were CCC supposed to let SISU have the remaining 50% of ACL when they wouldn't even give Higgs the money for their share....which happened to be less than they had given our club for it.
You talk as though CCC should just hand over every demand that they get from SISU. Shall we forget about the cuts to services? Shall we forget about the redundancies of 1/6 of the workforce? Then they could pay off all contracts and give Joy what she wants. They can give Joy what she demands. After all our football club is more important than anything else.
In the meantime the ones of us on planet earth can see why nothing is moving forward.
The problem for me isn't ACL it is the fact that Sisu took so long to put an offer in for the Higgs share of ACL. It seemed to me that the obvious thing when looking at our club was the fact that we had sold our stake in the stadium management company and with it the Pie Money*. The hope for me when Sisu came in was that they would recognise and correct the above, because otherwise they would be building on shakey financial foundations. Grendel is quite right when he points to other teams who have part/full ownership of their respective Stadium Management Company's and the benefits they receive because of their stake.
We obviously needed then and need now the pie money, that hasn't changed. Thanks to the Higgs case and the JR we have the judges summaries of why we don't own the Higgs share of ACL. We really need to be back in Coventry and if that means ACL have to put a previous offer on the table and/or Joy has to get the cheque book out to pay the Higgs and/or for Tim to ask Joy if the lawsuit(s) can be dropped then so be it. The attempts to distress ACL don't appear to be working and in a war of attrition between them and Sisu I fear we may be the losers.
Pie Money refers to matchday revenue not just the pie money.
So Mutton said that they still didn't have the for sale sign up. If it was me deciding after the way SISU had bullshitted their way through everything I would have had the fook off sign up. How were they supposed to negotiate with SISU?
You really need to check the timeline for that. Your hatred makes you blind to everything else.

i thought that was masturbation ??
CET said:But he added, if “a fantastic offer came in” for the council’s shares, the full council could vote on a change of policy.
Mutton also got that, the next line after the one you quoted:
It's annoying isn't it, schmee.Genuine question. And I mean this with love.

Don't worry pal; we all get it.....we just don't trust Shitzu with it!It just bores me when some play the objective card over and over again, whilst refusing to come up with any kind of check in the slightest.
No, that doesn't make me pro-SISU btw, that also bores me rigid. I could repeat all the reasons to beware SISU when they came in from the very start.
But hell, even Michael ran the spiel that SISU were mostly to blame, but ACL/Council had questions to answer. One of them would surely be why their half of ACL was never on offer to the club (for a fair price). To me, this seems a no-brainer, and can run parallel to the narrative that SISU are evil money grabbing capitalists perfectly easily.
It's also a completely different narrative to one that says, if plan A for SISU is a new stadium, then this is all irrelevant anyway. As this is plan A, then it's all irrelevant.
If at any point is stops being plan A, then resolution so we don't repeat the same mistakes of the past is key and that involves being open to all options, including selling the 50% of ACL to the club. Anne Lucas gets that, I'm surprised some of our fans don't...
