Thing that worries me here is that we could get renewed belief only for it to go wrong on the final day.

For instance;

We draw tomorrow, Bristol lose - Gap down to 3 points.

We beat Millwall, Bristol lose to West Ham - equal points, us above on GD. (can obviously swap the two results with us beating Burnley and drawing against Mllwall with same conclusion)

We then beat Donny, Bristol beat Barnsley - equal points, us above on GD.

All sounds rosy doesn't it ....... but ........

We would then go into the final game against Southampton having to match Bristol's result, despite having a really good unbeaten run in the previous 3 games.

How sickening would that be? :facepalm:

Let's say Bristol lose the next two (as they should) and we win the next 2 (as we should if we want to have any chance of staying up), we are then 2 points ahead but Bristol have 2 winnable fixtures whereas we have Southampton on the last day. We could go down by 1 point. How painful when you consider the amount of bad luck and number of last minute points dropped, particularly earlier in the season.

Tbh I never saw us getting anything at Bristol and was really banking on us beating Peterborough. I hope that doesn't end up costing us.

Just seems like it is prolonging the pain. Watched Southampton going forwards tonight and they looked so dangerous and were pinning a very good Reading side back for long periods.

Our defence would capitulate.

It'll be poetic justice if the team that turned down Sisu relegate us. Surely, the significance of this wouldn't be lost to anyone, even Sisu. ;-)

I think without doubt if I knew we were going down anyway I'd prefer it to happen now. Even at nearly 26 I'd worry about my heart

One consolation would be to have at least a single home game to let our feelings known to the owners.

Last time we fooked it up like this was at Charlton. Luckily the width of a post sent Leshtur down instead.

I've had a season's taunting from Brighton fans this season. Brighton! This club has been reduced to such a laughing stock that most other fans have run out of jokes or breath-and it's primarily SISU's doing. The fact we could be relegated by flipping Millwall compounds that embarrassment.

1 point tomorrow. 3 points each next home game. Brizzle have Brum and W Ham next. If we draw next game and win two home games and Brizzle lose next 3 (not easy games for them) we will stay up before Southampton game. Who said anything about beating Burnley?

A win tomorrow does make all the difference though, Astute.

It could be draw tomorrow, win Tuesday, or win tomorrow, draw Tuesday. Both give uis the 4 points. I know which way I would want it mind. I would take the win tomorrow every day of the week.

Win tomorrow and then we would only need a draw against Millwall to take over Bristol under the same scenario. We go within 1 point of Bristol tomorrow and that then puts tremendous pressure back on Bristol.

Much, much better position to be in. To know that you may only need a draw to overtake a team ahead of you rather than have to win. On Tuesday if we hear that West Ham are a couple of goals up and we are drawing that must put us in a much more comfortable position. It would filter through the stands and the manager and players would get to know it too. That could even spur us on to victory.

4 points from the 2 games would be great, but in terms of putting on the pressure on Bristol it would be best to come with 3 points tomorrow and the draw on Tuesday rather than the other way round.

If we want to win either game then this 90 minute hoof-fest to Clive Platt simply has to stop. It's tediously predictable and is the obvious option whenever he's on the pitch-even if he's not, we play the same balls into Nimely and McDonald to no effect. Football like that is not going to get us the 7 points minimum that we need to overhaul Brizzle.

We are very predicatble at times it has to be said.

When Platt has the better over a defender and wins loads of knock downs we play well. When this doesn't work though we keep playing the same way even though it's not coming off.

When Platt plays well we seem to play well. Not down to Platt being a good player of course, just that when the ball up to him works the cogs of the whole team seem to turn much more fluently. We can play well without him on occasion for sure, but when he's not winning the headers and flick-ons for us we do seem a bit more laboured.

What's doubly annoying Otis is that we play that way whether he's on the pitch or not. The likes of Nimely have no chance doing anything productive if all they're asked to do is try and chest down hoofs from the back against taller defenders-a shame when he's got the pace and dribbling ability to threaten if the ball were played into his feet.

I am trying ro be realistic. More chance of an away draw and home win than other way round. Would prefer two wins myself

A little too much disrespect for a Bristol side already 4 in front and just beaten us with the knowledge that they only need to do slightly better than us (maybe just one win) and we go down. Does anyone truly believe Bristol won't achieve that?

Let me also remind some of you we are where we are because we have been so bloody awful away from home ALL season. Just a handful of points there and we would not be having this conversation.
The guy that says every week "we go again" really should have been replaced months ago by an experienced guy. No we appointed a scout and gave him little else to work with until way too late. A more experienced guy could have just made the difference. You reap what you so. I said it way back then and I'm sticking to it.

You must be joking. Here you go with the "experienced manager" line again. So with an experienced manager we would be safe? Been here so many times going through the experienced managers that have failed this season. Nothing to do with our small and inexperienced squad. Now we have experienced players. Not as experienced as most, but they have a season under their belts now. All AT's fault, isn't it?

Our recent form has been much better. The Brizzle game was a game too far. The three away games before that were 1 win and two draws. They were against teams in 6th, 10th and 13th place. Today we are against the team in 12th. How many of those did you go to? Must be all as you seem to know everything. Absolute defeat today isn't it?

I am glad you are not our manager as you would have thrown the towel in sometime in September.

Whilst we have a decent chance I will not give in. Neither will AT or our players. Lets see where we stand after Millwall. You are so negative. We could be safe after the Donny game with just 2 wins and a draw. But you say we are down as though it is a fact. It won't be easy, but whilst there is a chance nothing is a fact.

Posters on here do keep saying 'if.' We know it is an 'if.'

Bristol have two tough games coming up. On paper, tougher than us. All people are saying is 'if' Bristol lose both games, no-one is saying they are going to lose both games.

All we know is today a result is good but not really what we need, we need a win today in all honesty !!! Blues though need 3 points to get in the play offs, and if west ham win today will still be chasing Southampton on tuesday!!! So there 2 games are really tough!!!

i dont expect us to win today but lets say we win our next 2 and they lose next 2,thats us up by 2 pts otis not equal

that means bristol go into home game with barnsley knowing they are 2 pts down and anything less than victory could end in relegation that very afternoon!

now say barnsley park the bus like they did with us and its 0-0 at HT,do you really think bristol are that great they will DEFINETLEY win?

they way i see it we need 3 wins out of 4,probably 3 in a row,but dont take it for granted that bristol will end their season well as i can see them bottling it too and getting 0-2pts from burnley/barnsley personally.
