Interested to get people’s opinion on this

Darren Ferguson coming in for a lot of stick for refusing to bring Ashley Young’s son Tyler on to the pitch last night in Everton v Peterborough FA Cup game so he could play with his dad

For Context* - The young lad has only ever played in one EFL Trophy game for Peterborough and Everton were only 1-0 up when Ferguson opted to make his final sub (A midfielder for a forward) in the 85th minute, game finishes 2-0 and Young Jr doesn’t get on

Can’t quite understand why he’s getting so much grief, maybe I’m missing something

Correct decision, it amazes me that Young is still stealing a living at Everton

Ridiculous that he's getting grief, just a sign of a pretty dumbed down society imo

Cause we’re absolute suckers for a sentimental/sob story in this country

It wasn’t a fucking testimonial. Too much YouTube boxing and wrestling have eroded some people’s understanding of competitive sport

Face value seemed a bit harsh, but he's explained it well in the interview and I don't think you can really argue with that decision.

Good job it wasn't Wrexham, they would have signed the grandad especially

Dyche's seat is still warm and they're trying out the utter woke nonsense

Agree with the decision for the son not to play, but heard on the radio the other day that Young has been Evertons best performer for past couple of months.

Richard Keys thinks it's a disgrace which confirms it's all nonsense and Ferguson was right.

Of course he made the right decision. In those circumstances, Surely any manager worth their salt would have done the same.

Peterborough aren’t a charity case. They had a chance to nick a goal, if it was my team I’d be happy the manager stayed away from that nonsense.

Just slaps of disrespect that Peterborough should have done it as they had no chance to win and owed it for entertainment?
