We should have another game before the end of the season that’s £15-20 to see what that would actually do to attendance. You are right to an extent but there are a couple of variables that could still affect the gate. It is conceivable that every 'available' ticket is sold and yet the attendance will still not be 30,000, while it is also unclear how many of the free ticket holders will actually show up.
Depends if they are entertained todayTo an extent, but if they did this ticket deal next home match, it would drop by half.
The people of Coventry love a one off big occasion.
There is an outletAn issue on a day like this is that the cut backs the club have made in running costs mean we can't maximise revenue from having a club shop or merchandising outlet at the ground, that would otherwise make up for the lost revenue from reduced ticket prices. Another unknown is how many will be encouraged to come back and support the club in future, whether it be our next home game or whenever. The value to the club in doing this deal isn't a simple mathematic one of working out ticket revenue for this game at the reduced prices against what they might normally get at the regular prices.
There's merchandising outlets at the ground every game and today they have extra outlets in the exhibition hall.An issue on a day like this is that the cut backs the club have made in running costs mean we can't maximise revenue from having a club shop or merchandising outlet at the ground, that would otherwise make up for the lost revenue from reduced ticket prices.
Fair enough. I thought the old club shop was just Wasps stuff. Where is it?There is an outlet
28000
They counted the free tickets that didn’t turn up.
Must have been counted by the same person that does the Wasps attendances!Over 28k in here...really?
You were robbed!Heineken £4.80 bargain!
So you get another 14000 in there?18k max
It's hard to tell how many were in the main stand and decided to stay inside. Also I couldn't see how full the east stand was as I was sat in it. On reflection 22k is probably about right. So you get another 14000 in there?
Tesco stand was not full, blocks 23 to 25 were like behind the goalsIt was about 22,000. Tesco stand, where the paying fans sat, was full. Both stands behind the goal were half full at best.
It felt like the early days at the Ricoh today when it felt very empty despite a big number there. It felt far busier, and far more atmospheric against Stoke.

I guess kids brought them home and parents thought, not likely !
Rain didn't help either.
28343 to be exact.
I could live with that fact but it was embarrassing to be announced as a record.
