Balcony street bar (2 Viewers)

Been three times this season. Like it mainly because my dad can use the lift and I can see the game from the seats. The food is generally poor but OK for some nachos with your beer or whatever. If you want a chilled drink with the footy on the telly and Josh Eccles to come and tell you he’s injured it’s pretty good. Might give the Mill a go for comparison tho as it seems to tick all the same boxes for cheaper.

I didn't really like the Mill mainly because the seats are right at the front (or at least they were last season). Fine if you don't mind that view but I prefer a little higher up.

Given the choice I'd go with BS over Mill personally.

Ah didn’t realise that. I’m in block 35 normally and hate it cos it’s so low down. Balcony Bar is probably a touch higher than ideal but miles better than being too low.

Debating it for Friday, anyone done it?

Is it worth the £80 a pop?

Got our ST's of course but fancy treating the kids. And myself

I've done it a couple of times, took my daughter who's an adult, it's ok for a treat, just get there early no big queues for the food and clean toilets. 🤔

I was watching the highlights this week a was thinking the same the press area is so much space wasted and just looks wrong compared to other newer stadiums . And we sit bellow the balcony and was amazed to see how empty it is /was .

The press area is at least an unusual touch in a stadium that is generally lacking in unique qualities.

Me a my mrs have done it twice now Sunderland and Pompey I think it’s worth it free drink when you arrive and the foods really nice , plus the view is the best in the ground in my opinion , try it out I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Especially if it's sold out on Friday I'd recommend getting there with plenty of time if you want to make the most of the food, I went a couple months back when it wasn't sold out and spent a fair while queuing to get something.
Other than that, between the view and the ability to get a pint at halftime without missing any of the game I rather like it. I think they'd be wise to introduce some form of upgrade scheme so season ticket holders are more likely to take up hospitality, feels like a no brainer to increase revenue/crowds.

Certainly a waste of money for kids. Wouldnt be so bad if you actually got the advertised price as a deduction from the ticket too rather than 1/23rd of your season ticket cost. If it's free and corporate night with the works then just enjoy and dont worry about the price, but for a random game I dont think there's much value.

Whilst I'm here, does anyone know how to get a birthday message on the scoreboard at HT please?

Did the Mahou lounge and wouldnt do it again. Over priced for what it is, hated watching from the balcony which was soleless and away from any atmosphere and as a ST holder you get no reduction on the price.
Id personally sit in your normal seats and then spend £80 on a good restaurant after the game
Did they have cod at least?

Did it for the Sunderland game - probably more worth it for adults than children (would've cost £37 general entry so by the time you add on a free beer, food, tea/coffee and the general convenience/comfort of toilets and nice seats it's not bad). As some have said, get there before 1pm and the queues are reasonable and plenty of seating. It also shows the 12:30 KO on a big screen and they then have Sky Sport News on during the game, so would probably be useful during the Boro game to check other scores if Wifi inevitably isn't working.

Oh and at the end you wait an hour for Haji Wright to talk for 3 minutes about his MOTM performance whilst everyone's kids roam around restlessly!

It's not a no brainer unless there is a season ticket reselling scheme. Otherwise what benefit does the club get from it really?

Not if they don’t sell out
They’d prefer to sell all tickets at the proper price before reselling tickets already bought at a lower price

How, if you upgrade to corporate it cost more money surely or am I missing something.
