I think Grimmer is okay. At this level at least. Sometimes he looks quite impressive (going forwards) and occasionally vulnerable when players run at or past him, but I really don't buy into 'awful' at all.Jones marked out the game , teams know if they block him we are very average ,
Doyle lumped it forward vertualy every pass ,
Subs made far to late poor by robins ,
I cannot stand grimmer I think he is awful ,
Evans very average yesterday ,
We desperately need a goal scorer , how many had our front two yesterday scored this season ???
I'm not convinced on Devon Kelly-Evans. He had one very good game, but his first touch isn't brilliant and to take the pressure off Jones we need someone on the opposite flank also being a danger. If we have that then the opposition cannot afford to triple mark Jones.I think this is the concern, if they stop Jodi we run out of ideas. Teams have Sussed he is our key player so we need tactics to be able to switch wings rather that rely on him to feed the duck.
Anyway, not downhearted, results in the main went well for us so lots to play for

If the Duck was on yesterday they could not afford to triple mark JJ so MR needs to think about occupying the opposition defenders and get the full backs overlapping more. Not once yesterday did the full backs go past JJ when he was on their wingI think this is the concern, if they stop Jodi we run out of ideas. I think he is a decent player, gives us an attacking option but with that gets caught at the back. I think he has the ability to chip in a few goals a season. Just need to get appropriate cover when he is bombing forward. Similar argument to England again, if you play wing backs then do you need three at the back?I think Grimmer is okay. Agree but if there key players were fit then we would have had more issues but they weren't. You stop the supply, you stop the goalsIf the Duck was on yesterday they could not afford to triple mark JJ so MR needs to think about occupying the opposition defenders and get the full backs overlapping more. Thanks for this, this cheered me up no end! :happy:Ryan Haynes could be our Gareth bale but without the set piece ability

That is a big deviation - but the place to be - just need a few of those shots to go in !

The full game is being shown again right now in Sky channel 403. Just stumbled across it. Viewing figures unlikely to be too big
he was quick to get across and get our centre halves out of trouble a couple of times yesterday.
I don't think Rod and Willis had their best games yesterday to be honest.

Disappointing.
But still conceded nothing
Thats McNulty getting away lightly!!Disappointing.
I quite like Grimmer, he never gives up and obviously is part of our solid defence this season, I see him as a half decent division 4 playerI think Grimmer is okay. At this level at least. Sometimes he looks quite impressive (going forwards) and occasionally vulnerable when players run at or past him, but I really don't buy into 'awful' at all.
I must say our striker department is living on the edge of the trade descriptions act, really really need something coming from them ASAP if we are to get promoted, each game I think they will score soon but sadly don't, hopefully if and when they do the flood gates will openI'm hearing the same thing mate from pals back home who go, my mate thinks we will need one or two forwards to come in, in January , he reckons mcnulty biamou and beavon just don't cut it? What you saying Otis ?
The lack of goals is obviously disappointing, but I think both McNulty and Biamou are good players, and show promise of things to come.I'm hearing the same thing mate from pals back home who go, my mate thinks we will need one or two forwards to come in, in January , he reckons mcnulty biamou and beavon just don't cut it? I think McNulty has been unlucky - at the start of the season he looked ring rusty and was just getting some sharpness back when he got injured. Looks like the kind of player who puts on a kg a week when he's injured and clearly lacking a bit of confidence in front of goal. Could just as well have played Beavon on Saturday when McNulty was asked play the defensive forward role.I think Biamou has done alright. Beavon I think is definitely a decent option from the bench (wouldn't pick him from the off at the moment because I don't think he suits the system we play).
It's just not clicking for McNulty at the moment. He's busy, but not looking like scoring and not tying in well with his fellow strikers. Been the biggest disappointment so far from me. I was expecting great things from the lad. He's just not being showing that thus far.
A nice day out but a bad game especially as it was on TV. Couldn't blame Barnet for playing as they did with so many players missingWell, that was dull as ditchwater!
Possibly a bit unfair to say you lacked any cutting edge as the one area we are injury free is at CB. Losing Jamal Campbell-Ryce just before kick off was unexpected - and really left us without any creative players with any league experience.
Coventry fans created a good atmosphere, what was appreciated was the lack of 'we should be beating teams like little old xxxxx', and general patronising tone (as seem by every other team that has come down here - see Portsmouth, Swindon, Luton, Stockport etc etc). Hope you all enjoyed the day out despite the football and when we come up to yours we have a fully fit squad to provide a more entertaining game. And hope you break your top 6 hoodoo this year!
