He’s an absolute winner though. I agree with your summary though and think rose will struggle to break into the team for a few weeks2 of those 4 goals conceded were from corners which I'd argue is a team failing not just the defence. The other 2 were McFadzean's fault, so if you're dropping anyone based on mistakes leading to goals it's him.
No way I'd bin him off for Rose when he's just scored the winner and we need his experience at this early stage
To me Ostigard looks the most vulnerable for Rose, noticed he sometimes over-commits especially in the air as he's desperate to win his aerial duels. This leads to giving away a few fouls unnecessarily. Not a big thing and can be easily rectified but just something I've noticed.
This one is going to be interesting. Always the optimist, is the away win likely here?
In 34 L1 matches last season we only conceded more than one goal in 5 games. We have played 2 Championship games and conceded more than once in both. There is greater emphasis on the attack this season
You’d think so wouldn’t you?Mcfazdean scored and Dabo and Giles got assists.
The bookies don't have us as favourites, you can get 5/2 on CCFC which I think is a great price. We were shorter than that to beat QPR albeit at home

Barnsley are 11/10... I know bookies use a lot of data to form their prices so perhaps their data says they've been unlucky in defeat
Not sure he's got much of an argument tbh, it did take a huge deflection. You’d think so wouldn’t you?
His work and skill led to the goal - I call that an assistNot sure he's got much of an argument tbh, it did take a huge deflection.
Reckon MR will keep an unchanged line up if possible. I'd consider swapping Shipley for Sheaf but other than that no other changes. Giles should start as Barnsley are a slightly less attacking threat than other teams so going with the more attacking of Giles and McCallum makes sense, esp when you consider he has the shirt and has played quite well
........Dabo......?

When I say less of an attacking threat I mean in terms of conceding. If he thinks you're less likely to put your chances away he's probably more willing to concede those opportunities in favour of having a better attacking option of our own creating chances for us rather than trying to negate letting you have chances which you're less likely to take.
I've no idea what may happen in the game and I reckon it'll be an interesting game. We're more than capable of winning it, certainly if we play near our best, but then so are you.
A couple of weeks ago I've been expressing my fear over having more teams pressing us this year given our style of play and the quicker, fitter players able to do it more quickly, effectively and for a longer period. But the first few games have shown we can adapt to that.
you’ve gotta fancy us in this one but that’s when I begin to worry
2-1 win or 1-1 draw
In our previous two home games in the league we’ve had 30 shots at goal, with 8 on target, but only scored 1, we’re an attacking threat, as in we’ll create plenty of chances, but our goal scoring threat in minimal, verging on non existent. But as Robins got the bottle to risk us continuing to miss chances?. And pick an attack minded team. He’ll have been watching our previous games this week, and had a number of scouting reports done on us leading up to Saturday, he’ll know what to expect.

Barnsley fan says strikers are good at defending but cant score. So thats a clean sheet sorted then.
We've scored in 23 of our 25 last competitive games
I'm confident of a tight win, not saying it will be easy, but im still confident!
Our weakness has been set-pieces and corners though. I'm glad they have Chaplin up top. With the way we’re playing I back both teams to score.

Didn’t care about losing the cup game, but this week feels like forever waiting for the next match. Wish we were playing midweek now.
