I think it was CCFC4Life who was commenting on Maddison's performance for Leicester yesterday. Maddison was absolute class. Fantastic technical skills at getting out of tight situations, finding space and linking with the attack.
I see many similarities between Maddison and Bayliss - Bayliss has great technical skill and is brilliant at driving forward with the ball at his feet.
For what it's worth I don't think we've found the right position for Bayliss in our formation. He's not a wide player. And he's not a box to box midfielder required to do the defensive stuff. I would like to see him deployed in the way that Leicester use Maddison - as a pure attacking midfielder.
If there is a £3m clause in his contract we may be better off selling him for £500k-£1m with a 20% sell on clause to a low end PL team or high end Championship club and hoping a Maddison style payout happens a couple of years down the line.
